Do you guys have any tips for making Dorm safer against fast rush down characters or how I should approach them? Against Zero for example I feel like all I’m doing is blocking / push blocking until I get mixed up. My normals get beat for speed and recovery so I can’t really push any buttons. I’m using Dorm( (dark hole) / Task (h.arrows) / Vergil (rapid slash) but I’m struggling to get much done with Dorm once I get cornered.
Don’t get cornered. That might not seem particularly helpful, but Dormammu should never, ever get stuck in a corner. He has plenty of ways to switch sides, and it’s just outright dangerous for him to be there.
The corner isnt as bad as it was in vanilla now that throw is a hard knock down and dorm can make use of it. He’s not vanilla Doom lvl.3 XFC good (Back throw Sphere Flame killed anyone 950K or under, T__T i miss killing bad wolverines at full health with that .) but he cant still hurt you.

@Emil i would say put storm 1st, dorm 2nd, Doom 3rd. Or Doom First and Anchor Storm if you play one better then the other. Doom and Storm can run some nice High/Low mix ups with assist and dorm in 2nd can use the back up and make some nice punishes or Force an XFC early.
Corners are bad because left/right mix-ups are more difficult to see, advancing guard (which is Dormammu’s only real defense) is half as effective, and your opponent has no doubt about where you will be when he approaches. They also generally mean more damage for your opponent if you get hit.
If we’re just talking 1v1, then I don’t think being in the corner is terrible. Against a character like Dr. Strange of Phoenix, it’s even preferable. In general, though, I think it’s a bad thing.
It depends really. Some players are just very comfortable in the corner. I see it as a common trait in Guile/Sagat players in SF and I think it is a good skill to learn for all fighting games, being comfortable with your back to the corner.
Its more of a player preference than a dormammu strategy in my opinion.
I’ve been messing around with Frank + Dorm, just wanted to say that you can easily DHC into Stalking Flare off both Frank’s main supers (Survival Tools and Blue Light Special). (I didn’t see this info updated in the 16th post.)
Dark Hole totally helps Frank out too because it adds hit and you can take TWO pictures off the time someone is being hit.
I just came in here to say that I believe Dorm’s most valuable buff is the fact that assists don’t go flying out of Chaotic Flames now. You actually get rewarded for playing smart and catching assists with that move!
In March, I’ll be repping Hulk/Dorm/Wesker at Final Round. Be on the lookout and always root for your fellow Dorm brethren.
It does more damage and builds more meter so I think it’s worth learning. Although the Brady guide has very different combos that make use of **:f::h: **with teleport follow up combos, whch build a lot of meter also!
As cool as the fly combos look, the timing varies way too much between certain characters (with dark holes at least). Timing also changes noticeably the more hits you get in on the ground before the launcher. It’s definitely even more difficult if you incorporate dark matters. It builds pretty good meter though.
As for the dark matter xx teleport combos, it takes some getting used to but I think it’s more consistent compared to his flight combos. Deals more damage and brings your opponent to the corner most of the time, emphasis on the most. The timing of the teleport is killing me at this point in time though >.<
is this the Dark Matter combo you guys where talking about cuz this is the best ground combo I seen and it build 1 bar, the combo pays for it self.

I can vouch for Frank/Dorm synergy, Dark Hole is an awesome assist for Frank. Extends his midscreen combos beautifully and has good DHCs. Also a good tactic is to call Dorm and jumps up with camera while they are in the air whiffing something and they get caught by camera and fall into Dark Hole for a free combo. Shopping Cart also helps Dorm out a lot.
