the UK fighting game scene

Im nit sure, i’ve ordered the dvds so ill let you know when they get here. What about sega world? Is that still open? Im sure they’ll have them there. It used to have over 300 machines, acording to that magasine.

Anybody know if there are any good fighters in the Essex area?

If you mean the Sega World that was in the Troc, it’s long gone, heh.

Gone  . When did that happen?

Years ago. 2002 maybe?

Funland replaced it. It’s still exactly the same.

Any decent machines there?

GGXX, 3S, SFA3, VF4:E, T5, MVC1, KOF 99 and 2000 as well.
Most with Jap sticks, and they have those double sided sit-down ones as well.

Sounds good. I might go there sometime soon.

funland is sweet but you never know when people will be there to challenge.

roughly wendesday-sundays from 5pm-midnight avarage time

I think I might get my self down there sometime. I have relatives who live in london, so I’ld be ok for staying dow there.

Any good players ther, actualy worth chalenging?

There are good players on every game and you will deffo get some fierce competition, most weekday evenings are packed in troc, but friday night is probably your best bet. You wont be dissapointed, should be well worth it if your staying for a few days.

Err as for the evo dvd thing, the first clip is chunkis and veggy although they were not the only ones who went from the uk, the other clip I have absolutely no idea, but the black guy says he is from Tooting, which is where I am from too infact I think I have seen him before lol.

troc is ok it really needs to do 2 things, 1 get some fucking air conditioning 2 lose that fucking music, it’s so fucking annoying i swear they play the same crap everytime i’m there, and also a few more games would be nice, 3rd strike is ok ggxx is nice but they really sould lose tekken tag and prehapes zero3 allthough it probably does make good money, i’d like to see a little more varity, what would be good is if they put one of those multislots into a back to back, i dont think that’s even possible though.
that’s my 2 pence, really get some air conditioning

I dunno, Robbie Williams is starting to grow on me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just for the record, anyone who lives around Birmingham is welcome to pester me for a game of 3s or something. Something being pretty much anything. Which I’ll probably learn to play someday. I already seem to have accidentally some kind of session organiser, so I might as well make it official and open it up to random heads  God knows how I’ll fit so many bums in my living room if it takes off :wtf:

What is the propper name for “troc”? What do you mean? where is it?

El Carpeto

1 day u never know i may go to Birmingham so if anything i may visit you to play anything…

I wouldn’t be bothered, If there’s an arcade decent enoungh near me in the country, I’ld go to play. It’s something to do anyway. Im gona hunt around newcastle in a couple of days. I doubt i’ll find anything decent though.

Its the Trocadero centre. Its located in Picadilly Circus in London. Massive tourist area as its right by Regent Street/Leicester Square so you get all teh tourists and shoppers passing through.

Its a big shopping area with a cinema and obviously an arcade area. Used to have bumper cars too, but I think those are long gone.

the bumper cars are still there they’ve never gone they even still have the old i repeat OLD!!! afterburner game in that crazy contraption that spins around and guess what it’s still 2 quid!!!

I’m the herald one that singho mentioned, and yes, I am planning on getting a real life fighting scene as well as online xbl \ mame one going as well, as like the xmas tournie I’ve just run it’ll hopefully have prizes of quite a good calibur, I’m hoping to jump into bed with a LAN group I know that I’m quite friendly with the organiser of it, use their hall space for a day or something… but that’s to be discussed, and as you’ll know if you read our site I’m going to be starting a ladder soonish so there is something substantial to play against, it’s all in the early stages yet, the ladder I’m hoping to get up and running in a month or so’s time depending on how heavy work is when I start back on wednesday, but for now it’s looking pretty good, just need to get a bit more coverage, and I hope to do this when I actually get a proper internet connection shovels more coal into his 56k modem

anyway, ttfn check the site www.hadoken.org.uk
