DAMMIT I am SO FUCKING DEPRESSED AND ANGRY. I feel like giving up playing FOREVER, or very soon, at the least. I lost to JR 87 times…I can’t beat him at ALL anymore. I can only win rounds off him. It’s not even just about his Akuma anymore, outside of his kara-throwing me when I’m in the corner, and GETTING me in the corner by low kicking me into a juggle combo, when ALL I tried to do was WALK. JR gets in low-forward range where Dudley can’t touch him, and then when I try to walk back and forth for positioning…BAM!!! Juggle combo for 1/4-1/3 of my life!!! I can barely MOVE against him! If I block, he kara-throws; if I try to throw or tech-throw, he does the damn juggle combo again. I’m NOT even isolating his demon flips so much as the problem, or even his hurricane kicks, but JR’s playstyle in general, such as his parrying and baiting skills/tricks.
Add to that, that JR’s reflexes are LIGHTSPEED, and I’m SCREWED. I try to confuse him but he winds up parrying almost everything I do!!! I try poking, whiffing, faking a standing or crouching hit/poke, but if it comes in contact with his Akuma, it usually results in a parry into BIG DAMAGE. It only takes 4-5 mistakes per round–that is, 4-5 times Akuma connects for damage–to end a round. As Mike Z. says, to be good with Akuma, you have to be good at not getting hit, and that’s JR for you! When his Akuma gets you in the corner and you’re Dudley or Alex (in my case), GOOD LUCK! All I can really do to HIT him is get LUCKY Dudley punches on him and try to throw him.
He also told me he plays around with a lot of ppl and since he seldom enters tourneys, he doesn’t try as hard during casual play. He’s a REALLY nice guy and I hang out with him and stuff, but I even told him that I can’t tell when he’s being serious when he says someone’s good or not, and this includes when he says I’m good and when I ask him if I really legitimately beat him, but they’re probably random wins…
I didn’t even want to talk to him later tonight…I just wanted to go home and MAYBE watch his match-ups against other players and dissect (sp?) his overall play approach; esp. against fellow Dudleys. He even gave me some advice that sounded reasonable but I’m gonna need a LOT more to get more wins against him ANYmore!
David, Ramin (if you post?), I need your matches on tape/youtube against JR!

After playing JR, sometimes in the darkness of sleep i see 15 hit sparks and i wake up in a cold sweat crying.

Hey Mike. I’ll show up if you want. I’m mostly looking for JR…gotta get more wins. I’ve NEVER had this much trouble beating someone, I think. Sometimes I just want to concentrate on one opponent at a time until I start getting more wins, and then I can relax again. Also, I need to save most of my dough for the trip to NY. Any time for you is a good time for me. Please feel free to call when you’re free and I’ll get back to yaz. If you want to play JR more in partic, I can tell you when he should be at ucla. you cannot expect to get any XP off extremely tough monsters by yourself, you’ll just get beaten and you get no experience from it. you need to start off fighting against easy ones or something your level, and level up from there.

Hey, is there anyone on here that deals with the CvS2 machine at X-Cape/UCLA?
The 2nd player side throws random fierces every once in awhile. And by that I mean, that it will be ok for 2 rounds, and on the 3rd round the fierces start coming out at 2 second intervals…Also, (Anyone correct me if im wrong) but 1st player side is iffy as well…
Can anyone here help?

I’ve beaten JR before, and I asked him if he let me win and he said no, but I kept winning so many damn rounds that day, it was really frustrating. I’m just obsessed with beating one particular person at a time: it doesn’t matter if they’re near my skill level or not, and right now, that person happens to be JR. I have been dissecting his playing style and what problems he causes me, but it’s NOT enough. WHY, oh WHY does NO ONE play Akuma like him? I don’t get it. He doesn’t get rusty either!
Btw: do you play at UCLA often or at all? I missed a bunch of different players when IWST was taping matches
