Battletoads is hilarious. I remember a long time ago when I played some special version in the arcade. It was really gory. You were able to knock a pig down then turn your legs into chainsaws.
On a sidenote, does anyone play Melty Blood ReACT? I’m looking for someone to play in that game.
Can you play it online (without unbearable lag), or is it 2 USB pads or something?

MBR isn’t online compatible. The best thing to it being portable is playing it on my laptop while carrying 2 USB controls.
mhmm, i did forget about battle toads, the cycle level was pretty hard, and the level after was impossible…UGH
Cycle levels are hard in any game. I remember the cycle stage in Megaman 8. There was a robot announcer thing and it was insane. “Jump jump … slide slide … j-j-sli-jump slide slide … sli-j-sli-j-j-sli-sli-j-slide slide!” It was more distracting than helpful.
o man, i remember that. i just played it blind and beat it one day, IT WAS AWESOME…although it took me 7 days…but it was NOT well worth it cuz i couldnt beat the rest of the level.
Battletoads has nothing on Star Soldier (NES). I don’t think that game was meant to be beaten by human hands.
Some crazy man translated my game into Japanese. Given that a lot of text strings were in English, he must have done a lot of work by hand.
It stuns me to see people playing it, let alone having it translated into another language.
so…did you actually have to buy MBR? I’m not sure if I should get it - the demo is pretty fun
Nah, I was able to get it off of my friend during AX. The demo is really fun and one of the main reasons is that it’s about as f’ed up as MvC2. The demo gets old pretty quickly though since there are only 2 characters.
TB, you lose. I’ve beaten Battletoads many times, have done it without continuing (and once while losing only 1 life), and can do most of the racing levels at the front of the screen. It also happens to be my 2nd fave NES game right after Cobra Triangle.

I SO concur my friend. I was traumatized as a kid. Then not all that long ago, I faced my demons, and beat it on an emu. Man, it’s so much easier when you actually see the patterns. I did use savestates, so I cheated.
