Here are the results for the first UCLA Ranbat! The tournament was filled with a lot of down to the wire matches and exciting moments! Almost all of UCLA’s top players were in attendance, and we also had a few guests from the greater LA area joining us. These are the top three winners:

**1st Place- K.P. aka Hugo101

2nd Place- LainySky

3rd Place- Filthy Sal**

It was a very tense Loser’s Finals, as LainySky’s Viper got counter picked by Filthy Sal in the second match, switching from Balrog to Guile. After losing the second match because of Sal’s patient play, combined with a failed combo into Ultra link, Lainy decided against switching to Chun and ended up winning the last match by a very close margin as Viper.

In grand finals, Lainy was one round away from resetting Hugo101’s Guy to play the final best of 5, but Hugo101 is just too good and busted out some hella badass shit the last second and won the whole goddamn tournament. Hugo, we’re glad that you’ll be joining us next year at UCLA.

These gentlemen will be receiving checks in the mail shortly. Sorry again for Game On! screwing up and not being able to pay you right there in cash. I’ll get on their case and try to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

Shoutouts to UberPaoPao, Negromat, Vito, and Sneaky, for making top 8 and representing UCLA with great performances, and also to Kara Leung for showing up! We’re all sad you didn’t take pictures, but thanks for stopping by anyways!

If you couldn’t join us this time, you missed out! Good news is, you have 5 more chances to get in on the awesomeness and earn some prize money! Check the first post for details regarding future tournaments! The ranking system will be in effect, and I’ll be sure to post up more details about how that works as soon as I find out.
