Hey guys, trying to get a read on what if anything is going on this weekend. Doesn’t look like there are any tournaments of note going on in the area so I was wondering what you guys are interested in doing? I would have casuals at my place but my apartment is too small and doesn’t have a living room :
I can’t go to Don’s because of the essay I’m supposed to be writing right now, but I’ll be free all day Saturday, Sunday evening, and all day Monday. I’d like to get a real level up session with a lot of people playing seriously if you guys are interested. If nothing ends up going down then any one of you is welcome to hit me up for a level up session. I know I’m not the best of the best at UCLA, and I’m not trying to ego trip here, but I know I could help a lot of you guys get to where you want to be. At Gameon we play pretty casually, and it’s hard to learn if you keep getting peaced out without a chance for an immediate rematch. I also know that you guys aren’t learning much from me if I play my tertiary characters like Cammy or Ken against you instead of my mains. I know SoKal, you in particular expressed a desire to play against my Bison, so I’m down for some one on ones against your Ken.
I know there’s been some drama going on with the tier list so I hope you guys keep in mind that regardless of anything else A: it was made with the best of intentions and B: we’re all friends here and C: everyone wants to see everyone else get better. Definitely don’t worry about your placement, because at this point it’s just speculation, and it’s definitely not scientific.
Anyway hit me up on facebook or send me a PM if you want to play…or post it in this thread I guess. I’m down to play anyone…(except for paolo because he’s JUST TOO FREE :D)
Fuck all this tier shit, MONEY MATCHES!!! Kidding. Although the idea of this would bring a better competitive element to those within the same levels, as humbling as the list (being fourth from the bottom…) it really shows that it can be a motivator in forcing people to improve in their overall play.

I might make a trip out to dream lab and get some games in but this will only occur if enough people show interest. I am more interested in hitting up someones pad. Unfortunately my roommates have sold my furniture, so I will not be able to accommodate a large group gathering. SoKal and Quartz: A Sunday level-up sesh would work best for me! I’ve got work and family stuff on my plate for most of the weekend.
Along with my naive, altruistic commitment to honesty, it is all that my allegiance to the Bruin Spirit of honor and integrity can do which will keep me trying my best earnestly, and keep me from playing shittily on purpose to reach that beautiful tier’s bottom. Besides, you’re just sandbagging.

Hey who are you? And to answer your question there is an internet cyber cafe type place called “Game On” at UCLA’s student union it has Super problem is they do not have sticks so we usually bring our own. Now, we only meet up here between class, after class, ditching class, or in my case during my lunch hour lol. We rarely meet up in the evening at “Game On” unless they are hosting a tournament. We usually host casuals at an apartment around UCLA. Sometimes there will be a big enough event where anyone and everyone is invited e.g. I hosted a ssfIV party/tournament/causual with 4 set ups 20+ people showed up from all around socal & UCLA. But usually a good example of a get together around UCLA would be 3-6 people with one set up. You can send me a PM for more info.

Since Taylor has family stuff to do on Saturday I am totally down to hit up dreamlab with everyone on Sunday. If we get tired of playing at dreamlab Ronnie my friend who lives in the 626 area has SSF4 set ups at his pad we can totally hit him up and get casuals there as well since we are in the neighborhood.

As for Jonathan (Silent Akuma) LOL Four guys have already expressed their interest so unfortunately unless someone drops out I will not be able to take you to Dream Lab. I will keep you posted on the details.
