The truth about Denjin Hadoken

excuse this noob but let me say what im having trouble with. the main problem im having with denjin is getting someone in the corner where it would only take 3 hits of denjin to stun them. that is the ideal situation for me to have someone while im playing as denjinryu. them in the corner where it only would take 3 hits to stun them . if they can take the 3 hits without being fully stunned theyll still be in danger but vs a good defensive player they can wait out a bit in the corner till their meters cools off and avoid getting dizzy. the easiest way for me to get someone in the corner is mix up mids /lows and hitting a d+forward, hurricane kick (risky in itself) or hitting d+forward, hurricane after a whiffed throw animation. however since the d+forward takes no stun whatsoever its not enough when i try to set them up to red parry in the corner. neither is back throw into corner although that set up is pretty unlikely since opponents always look for a back throw and avoid it well. so what that usually leaves is a parry , hardstrike (fierce), hurricane/sidekick opponents lands in corner and you activate. obviously , an annoying chore against better players :bluu: still, i gotta use ryu in everygame so gotta stick with it

Yiwang’s Dingy Ryu is the truth. Ask him about SA3 tricks.

Here’s a good example of the power of Denjin. 2 guys I know were playing yesterday. One dude does a Denjin to a ShinSho Ryu in the corner. I was sure he had stunned him when he hit, but nope, he was like a smidgen off. Then guess what happens? The other Ryu recovers from Denjin hit stun and then proceeds to ShinSho the other Ryu to his death.

NICE DENJIN!!!

for someone who talks a lot of shit, you obviously don’t understand the full point of that, but WHOOPS! IT’S OK, YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT ANYWAYS!

poor watts?

(ooc: why the random jabs? i can understand the random strongs for meter, but jabs? )

Denjin-Hadoken

I’snt that the same denjin Ryu does in SSFII’s intro?

I think it’s kinda cool.

Just choose his turbo colorpallete and get nosdalgia.

Here’s another Denjin trick I learned: if you know you’re gonna dragon punch someone in the corner (like once every blue moon) you can super cancel into denjin and charge it up real fast. When the opponent techs or gets up you release the denjin. This isn’t quite new but if they didn’t tech you’ll get 5 hits and if they do you’ll get 4 possibly 5 if you trick them. Now if they get hit with it you got what you want-a dizzied opponent and if not they’re parrying it. Parrying it gives you plenty of time to throw them or if you’re gonna get 5 hits you can throw in a low kick which will throw off their parry. This is especially good b/c they must parry the denjin high and the low kick low and then the denjin high again and it will allow you to combo them as well. I’m sure Akuma can warp out and you can get a reversal super but if you time your denjin release perfect they must be perfect with their reversal as well. I’m not quite sure if you could use this outside the corner on an opponent that techs b/c by the time you dash over there they can simply block any move you throw their way anyhow.

Denjin has promise mainly b/c it is unblockable. It allows you to play games with them. You can actually do a denjin on a jumping in opponent, trade hits with their attack, and juggle them afterwards if it was just right.

omg…

how about i have u in the corner, and u try to jump out, i standing fierce u, and u parry that, but then since u are such a scrub and dont kno how to parry twice, i standing roundhouse right after (standing fierce + standing roundhouse combos) and u get knocked back in the air and i fireball denjin u from there?

or how about just down parry in the corner, low forward uppercut cancel into denjin?

omg…i just found out the most useful tactic with denjin…

too bad i’m not going to tell you all.

well…ok…maybe i will in my next few posts…

if people are interested.

I’ll divulge my Denjin secret which I discovered years ago. If you time the Denjin right, it will hit the middle of their character sprite when they are getting up which makes it virtually unescapable. Works easiest on fat characters like Alex.

uuuuummm…

Denjin isn’t “virtually” unblockable. It is unblockable.

He said virtually unescapable not unblockable. Maybe you should learn to read arcticninja. Let us in on your great denjin trick exodus. Let me guess it’s don’t play with it or something stupid like play with shin shoryuken instead. I doubt you have anything good to contribute. You’re all talk and no action. Go away. You haven’t posted 1 thing about denjin yet. Just alot of blaa blaa blaa seems to me. I’m not saying anything I’ve posted has been a revelation or something but I can play with denjin pretty well. It’s when you decide to use it that’s important. It’s like trying to tell someone when to use low medium kicks or somethin’. It’s a no-brainer. So I’m sure anything less than an act of god would get ya’ll interested especially since it’s obvious that you already have it made up in your mind that denjin sucks. Ya’ll are like vultures. Just waiting around for some scraps. Either contribute something to the discussion worthwhile or LEAVE!!! Don’t get mad at me. You came here to talk junk and that’s what you’re getting in return. Can’t swallow your own medicine? I thought so…
…LEAVE or you can stay and get verbally beaten. It’s up to you.

He edited his post.

ok…

First of all he edited his post. Second of all, I really should not be taking reading comprehension lessons from someone that has difficulties with paragraphs and commas.

Now is that your foot in your mouth, or your head up your ass?

Allow me to simplify.

You sure contribute something USEFUL information each time you post.

About the topic, IMO Denjin Ryu would require lots of planning ahead and keeping an eye on the stun meter. Just an observation from watching frankie3s playing Denjin Ryu. It seems that everytime he connects 3-hit Denjin Hadouken, he stuns them. He’s quite an amazing player!

Maybe I should learn to read right? Ok I’m a loser. I red parry on smart moves and not the ones that do good damage, I charge partition, I use option select, I can parry well, I use parry counters, I poke well b/c I know moves with good range/priority, I make up good combos and use them in match play, I come up with lagit strategies and use them in match play, I make up crazy hard unreal combos and situations for combo vids, I play against decent competition, I win, and I do it all on almost every fighting game I pick up which is alot. Now don’t take my word for it b/c ya know I’m a loser. Always have and always will be. Sorry I don’t live up to your expectations.

I will apoligize arcticninja as I was unaware that he edited his post. I haven’t been up here in a while. I missed it ok.

Where’s the secret denjin trick exodus? Maybe you took my advice and exodus your way outta here. Good name for someone who should leave right?

u and me, next evo, ryu denjin vs ryu denjin grudge match ok? we’ll even play for money, if u think u kno shit about it and are saying u are sooo good and invent sooo much wen its already 3 years old.

locust: with soooooooo much knowledge and skill…what did you place at that fayetteville NC tournament? as i recall, not a single DECENT player participated in the 3S tourney. correct me if im wrong?

hey man, no worries. Just use your head before you jump to conclusions.

I’m not the one who likes to complain but you’re right I didn’t do so hot at that tourney. However, I can’t use those controllers to save my life. I’m still the best up there. Just cuz I didn’t win don’t mean nothin’. I’m sure you’d lose too if when you held d/b it didn’t block and every time you pressed two buttons together to throw or do an overhead it didn’t do it. I also know how to jump in with FK do a standing close FP into a hurricane kick when I dizzy someone too but as everyone can see those controls cast a magic spell on me or somethin’ and wouldn’t let me do it. I’ll play anyone of those guys and you on DC version and wax that @$$. They ain’t got nothin’ on me. Too bad the best person at the tourney does unblockable aegis reflector which ain’t on home version either. I can beat unblockable reflector tricks too it just requires that when I do a denjin it ACTUALLY does it and not some other cockamamy bullcrap. I believe in playing a person’s best not their worst. But I’m gonna keep practicing on those controllers and get better with them. You’ll see me again. Just so you know I didn’t even play denjin ryu all that much. As you can probably read I played with Elena and Oro mostly. I don’t even have to get started with them. Can you win with Oro if everytime you charge b for 2 seconds and press forward and punch it doesn’t do a fireball? Couldn’t do uppercuts either. I wuz helpless.

As for evo, please. You think I’m gonna go all the way to the west coast. That’s a costly trip. When folks in USA get their heads outta their @$$ then they will see that west coast ain’t all that. Start holding national tourneys somewhere else for god’s sake. I’m not saying east coast is better but in SFIII neither east or west coast is best. It’s those boys out in no man’s land. They expect folks to qualify and go to Japan to play on someone else’s home turf. It’s sad. The way I see it is that controllers in video games mean alot. Put someone on an unfamiliar controller and their as good as dead from the get go. It only takes the smallest of mistakes or not being able to do one little thing to put someone under. Now tell me I’m wrong.

Oh yeah, where’s that denjin trick exodus?
