The point of that was characters that have choices (yamazaki, gief, maki even, etc…) can get inside and have 2-3 options, the opponent doesn’t get a 100% safe escape. “Roll Super” will never be a good strategy in and of itself, but there are certain characters can roll super, in certain situations, it’s not a general tactic by any means. Just like, ‘SJ with nothing, fierce DP’ probably works in tournaments at times, but again, you can’t just throw it out there and call it a good solid tournament tactic you can depend on, it’s a freestyle tactic that misses more often than it hits when you treat it as a ‘good’ tactic instead of what it really is.

This leads (again) to the problem with denjin, the threat is not real. Just answer this simple question, what happens when i call your bluff? the previous 10 pages of defense have all been talking about the option of building your meter. What happens if i 1) can parry at a average level, and 2) don’t give a fuck about your denjin, and tell you to prove it. The whole EX tangent is smoke and mirrors. It’s just a very complicated rewording of mopreme’s tactic with shinsho… The difference is that if i call mop’s bluff, he supers me anyway, if i call your bluff, what happens? Actually using the denjin, is the only thing that seperates denjin ryu from the other two, and is all that needs to be backed up, without dancing for 1000 pages around the only real question that needs to be answered.

Setups into the full 5 hit Denjin are worthless. Anyone who can parry will do just that.

Setups into the gauranteed 2-3 hit Denjin are also worthless. As mentioned before, it’s really hard to bring up someone’s stun bar with ryu to make those setups useful. And the fact that Denjin gives you less exs makes it an even harder task.

Roll, super is about as good and safe as u can get with the characters that actually have good roll, supers. Nothing is 100% in SF or any game. So, the way u define what a good tactic is is pretty flawed. U gotta think of tactics in term of what works and what doesn’t (on good ppl)…not what is “good”. Good is a general terminology that doesn’t say anything. Roll, super works on good ppl and is just as safe as most tactics when used right. Neway, i say u guys give up on this thread.

btw, setups into 5 hit denjin are so not worthless. give me a 5 hit denjin with u getting up a character’s distance away from me, and i can bet that i will make u get hit 70%+ of the time.

EDIT2:

there is no such thing as “less” EX’es unless u mean being able to do 3 EX’s in a row or something stupid like that (well not stupid with Remy…). if u keep rushing and building meter, u will always have an ex, doesn’t matter the length of the bar.

anyways, some stuff is pretty useful, but when ewe got to the second page it turned gay -_-

denjin is good, but dont think ull win so easily with it as u can with shinshoryuken… i dont care for EXes about now, were talking bout the super…

denjin: good stun damage, short bar… bladiblah
shinsrk: AWSOME damage, pretty long bar though… bladiblah…

about those 2 things have been argued for several pages =/ i mean like wtf… u can say one sucks and other doesnt, coz theyre 2 different kind of supers… i see frankie3s and yiwang rocking the denjin and that courages me to play denjin… but i only play cpu… its too lame… it does work though, getting a lvl 4 on their ass, giving me time to do whatever i want…

but still i like to play with SA2 why u ask? easy… its combo-able… that gives this super a better chance to land then some throw into denjin or srk into denjin bullshit… SA2 is just combo-able man… and u get lotsa damage out of it, no way a yun will try to make some stupid mistake twice and see himself lose 65% of his life… thats the fear factor right there…

ppl will hesitate, too afraid to parry, because blocking is safer, UOH and there they go, right off to the sky and stars… whats up with the denjin? throw… charge… level 4 shot, he parries one and get hits for the other 3… gee… he still stands… took less damage then a jump-in fierce, fierce, hcf+mk =/ great… now ur up to perhaps a chun-li with a super ready, and what are u going to do? ur not really ahead of ur opponents life, u have no meter, u cant pressure with EX fireballs, u cant do shit to stop her from getting in and SA2 houyoko-sen whatever ur ass…

if u had SA2, and u hit her, she will have half her life or less… it doesnt even matter if u get hit by her SA2, coz ur just that little bit ahead on life…

ill just stop now, need to finish some bullshit paper v_v i hope u read this locust, im not trying to diss ya, just saying why SA2 is better/has priority over SA3…

If you have your opponent in the corner and hit them with the jump in roundhouse, s. Fierce, half circle forward mk, then charge Denjin it will almost be fully charged by the time they get up and also almost stun them. If the try to parry it you can just hit the with s. fierce, half cicle forward mk.

Denjin in ** MY ** oppinion is his best super art. So don’t flame me and say I suck. :smiley:
