The Tracks Tavern Presents Code Of Honor Milwaukee,WI Saturday June 19th

i was being sarcastic about sf2 being simple and no one here has a chance to beat me or munny in a tournament match in that game ever

If I got back to the level I was on when the game came out I might have a chance.

We should ft10 tomorrow at fight night. ft10 for me and to give u benefit of the doubt ft2 for you. Because anyone can beat me once.

edit: except jerry

i wish i could attend fight nights but i dont get off till 9pm. :frowning: id like to get sum hdr in too

lol of course you don’t count in that challenge but i’ll open it up to anyone who comes to this $5 gets you a ft10 against me and you only have to beat me 2 this goes out to anyone at this tournament except for the following: munn3y, antonio, joe. Anyone else game?

u serious?

yeah i just need to practice the game once more and i’ll be ready i think i only went like 70/12 or something with my main last night but thats not gonna cut this but trust me 1 more session and i’ll be ready.

I’ve been distributing the flyers around town at some gamestops and such, places I think SSF4 players might frequent - one of the stores asked me what the rules were for 18-20 year olds in attendance. I believe that to attend they would need a parent or guardian present. Obviously anyone under 21 will not be and cannot be drinking, but for attendance, the rules are a bit unclear.

Looking up wisconsin state laws it appears there are exceptions for persons entering the establishment to order food if the establishment’s “primary purpose” is to serve food. The other exception is if they are attending an event in a separate hall or event area away from the bar. I don’t know about the tracks, but if this is the case 18-20 year olds should be fine. Otherwise they’re going to need a parent or legal guardian.

They need to be accompanied by someone that is responsible for them (brother sister cousin etc.) that is 21 or older. Chun Pai I want to thank you for helping out man. I really appreciate it. Thanks everybody that posted flyers for us.

Yeah I’m going to make some more trips around town to distribute the flyers this weekend. I’m thinking of going to gamestops, half price books, CD Max/Mega Media Exchange, maybe Barnes and Noble stores? Best Buys?.. I think I’ll also post it on craigslist events and some other areas. It would be awesome if we could really get this going!

Yeah the last one we had we had a good turnout and from the sound of things so far this one will be even bigger. CD max in Brookfield wouldn’t let me post flyers last time but Mega Media Exchange on 76th did. Lost World Of Wonders is another place I plan on going to tomorrow. Also, please see the first post as it is updated with the rules.

You may as well post the prize pot description too, just in case some new people complain about not getting it all. Though, I doubt those new people would win ;D Never know though… Ninjas are really out there.

70/20/10 I believe the pot was.

First post is updated now to reflect prize payout.

What is this? Are you guys playing for money?! I’m going to have to consult with my wife.

:wonder:

If you win we can just give you a gift card you can use to buy magic the gathering cards.

i demand a re-edit to your post syxx! i held my own in HDR and even beat your 2 in a row challenge on tuesday. i can figure this shit out.

Well I got CD Max in brookfield to post the flyers. The only one that gave me trouble was the brookfield square gamestop. They seemed to think that promoting an event for street fighter, whose players are obviously all thugs and deviants, was not something they wanted to do. They also wanted us to put up some gamestop flyers at the event, I told him we would but I dunno why.

He did have one legitimate concern - who is actually hosting and organizing this tournament? If they win, is that going to be a problem for the other people that attend? I know you guys probably aren’t fixing anything or doing anything shady, but it looks bad to the outside players who are just hearing of this, I think. Especially with cash involved.

The new Dave and Busters on mayfair might be the kind of place we could consider talking to about having these kind of events and tournaments more regularly. Maybe monthly or so?

If soloist won i don’t think it would be a serious issue. you are new to the scene so just so you know it’s not a huge deal.

Also dave and busters wouldn’t work. and besides this place doesn’t charge for venue, all the money is going in the pot, which is rare. I’m not saying it’s not a good idea but trust me dave and busters will be out to get any penny they can out of us, and when there are less expensive (or free) options then there’s no reason to look to them as a venue.

Just to explain the only thing that a tournament organizer can do in their own favor would be to weigh the brackets in his odds and give himself an ez bracket to guarantee top 3 by only playing against scrubs until the end. Pretty much when you are playing you are either gonna win or lose and nothing you can do as an organizer is rig the brackets, though I guess you could arbitrarily disqualify people but that is just an extreme case and I don’t see it happening at this tournament.

If you are new to tournaments, then what we did tuesday was pretty standard. I seeded Jerry and Carlos based on them getting 1st and 2nd at the last tournament, and seeded madwak and soloist as 3rd and 4th since I think they are the best players. And then it wound up that soloist won and price got 2nd so the next tournament they will get top 2 seeds with consideration to myself as the 3rd and 4th seed based on this past tournament. And then to fill in the rest of the players I basically had a list of names and had Price give me random numbers between 1 and 9 for everyone else and just went straight down the bracket filling in the names in the order he gave me (without knowing the actual names). But most likely the bracket will be run on a computer and so again people will most likely be seeded to prevent the better players from playing each other early on and then having the computer randomly generate the rest of the bracket. Any other way is foolish. Then if when they decide to run another tournament, they have even more past results to determine to seed better players above the ones still coming up.

The more of these that go on, the easier it is to seed people based on results rather than individuals just thinking so and so is good which is why it is important to make it out to as many tournaments as possible to get your name out there so you avoid having to play the good players early on and you can continue to place higher.

But in the end everyone has an equal shot of winning regardless of what goes on because all you have to do is not lose, and if you lose it’s your own fault and has nothing to do with the people coordinating the tournament. And like I said it is likely that if this tournament turns out to be milwaukee players only then I think soloist has the best chance to win. If he is organizing or not really has nothing to do with it and I don’t think anyone will look down on it if he happens to win.

Man, fuck Gamestop AND D 'n B. We don’t need to promote them, and D 'n B would be a horrible venue for something this size. Mad props to you for spreading the good word though, Chun! Dan speaks the truth. Even though Matt is organizing, I’d be disappointed if he didn’t participate. Whoever wins this should have to earn it!

fuck that im winnin this shit.

edit: lol prolly not but im not losing to anything easily so you better be on your A game.
