Mightymar’s Anakaris won at UFGT7 against Floe’s Sasquatch in two 3 out of 5 sets (Winner’s Finals and Grand Finals). When was the last time Cammy went against a great Ryu player in two 3 out of 5 sets and won both?
How does someone who doesn’t pusblock and constantly gets smacked in the face for going for an air-to-air while not correcting himself count as a great VS player?

I’d argue that TvC:UAS edition is tne most balanced game in the vs series. People have gone with Joe in that game, Joe is practically worse than he is in MVC3. Just about everybody in that game had somewhat of tournament viability except G.Lightan.
Mirc Fl0e plays often he then you think. He used to be on ggpo all the time. Also, Anak can’t pushblock. As you’re supposed to be a Night Warriors player you should of known that.
Anakaris can’t pushblock and his guard cancel is practically the worst move in the game.

If you’re going to make an example of Cammy facing a great Ryu, how about Anak facing a great Sas? UFGT7 isn’t an example of VS balance in the least.
I can’t say much for Anakaris, because obviously Capcom had something against him. Lilith is considered the Dan of this game, even when she technically isn’t the absolute worst character.

oh and for the record, lilith might be the 4th worst character in the game and kaji plays the bitch like she’s top tier. He’s placed more times in the top 3 for DCC than other god like players who run nothing but tops.
balance isn’t how many characters can compete in a fighting game. Who cares if sf4 has 14 characters that can compete when hakan\gen get shitted on for free. Balance is walking up to the game for the first time, picking any character and if you put in some work, you could beat the best players around consistently even during brutal tournaments. That’s balance. When you have to play within the confines of “tiers” in order to win or place high, like in sf4, that kind of defeats the term balance…

I totally see characters in VS play at positions 2/3 of the screen away constantly because it’s more advantageous due to their superior space control. Oh wait, no I don’t. They’re just throwing shit out to get in. At least 90% of every characters damage is from being inside your opponents rectal cavity.

Balance doesn’t matter in dumb rush down games. So there is really no need to cherry pick instances of shitty character winning crap in single elimination. Pick the best character. I guarantee he fits your playstyle, RUSH DOWN.

the way i see it, a TRULY BALANCED GAME allows anyone to play a character that fits their style and win consistently with that character if they put time into learning the ins and outs of said character and how it performs in different matchups against the other fighters. a poorly balanced one is one where even if you put the time into it doesnt matter because your still working against the limitations of the game and what it believes “YOU SHOULD BE PLAYING AS”.

- both rely on crouching medium kick and roundhouse
- both rely on jumping medium kick and roundhouse
- both use jab and fierce punch fireballs for zoning
- both use jab and fierce punch SRKs for anti-airs
- both rely on fireball corner traps
Both of them are zoning characters. Is the entire cast comprised of zoning characters? No.
