From the start I wanted to make this trailer be about just one thing. MWC. I watched a few of the shadowloo tournament trailers, and while they were packed full of cool graphics, they were about 4 minutes long and mainly focused on WHO was going to be there. I didn’t want to focus on any person/people. I just wanted to showcase what games are going to be there and where the event is being held (Nashville). I believe people having a good experience at MWC then talking about how great TN is and how cool everyone is, would have a much better impact than having this trailer tell them.
As far as the piece needing hype audience footage etc…Yes that would have been great. In fact, I really wanted to add this. But I looked all over and didn’t find any HD great quality footage that anyone here filmed, and I certainly wasn’t going to steal someone else’s footage or throw handy cam/cellphone footage into this piece.
I don’t feel like I am being put on blast or anything of the sort, feedback is appreciated, and I am thrilled that this trailer has potential to bring more people to MWC. I just want people to realize, that if footage doesn’t exist…it doesn’t exist. However, I would love for this to change. I would love next years MWC trailer to have highlights of this MWC, including both gameplay footage with hype commentary (Jas, I am looking at you!) and hype HD quality audience footage.

I basically do the same thing you do…(minus the motion graphics…I still need to learn After Affects more…). I own an HD camera…I was already planning on filming MWC the entire weekend (as well as MBB) so i’ll have the footage for you for next years trailer… Just hope that I can get it all in, seeming as it’ll be tough trying to play and film at the same time.

Roadtrip Crew: Thats was hands down the best fucking tourney travel road trip I have ever been on. There was entirely too much funny and the only trip where the drive back had more energy and hype than the drive down there. Pat: Hands down the most fun I have ever had in a KOF match was that first one King v King where no one could tell if it was a shooter or a fighter or what.
