The Tekken 6 Thread - December 08 for PS3 JPN port, no info on US/World

I’ve vented my frustration for Tekken 6 on TZ more then enough…sadly…you still have people defending that this game is going to be a deep fighting game on there…

Even for the Int version, when I start seeing videos that don’t revolve around someone launching/crushing into a juggle, or bounding someone into oblivion or across the stage, then I’ll start believing that it was an improvement from Tekken 5.

I never understood, how Namco could’ve made Tekken 6 even more newbified then Tekken 5. With the juggles and bound working the way they are…I’m going to wish all of you Big Character Players in Tekken the best of luck in Tekken 6.

So I presume you’re not playing Tekken 6.

I will play it, simply because I have a solid group of competition for this game, and yes, it’s one of my most loved fighting franchise series…however, most likely, I’ll drop it like I did Tekken 5 after awhile. I only played Tekken 5 competitively for like…less then a year, before I just gave up on it, then when DR came out, I gave it a shot, however it was nothing but a “balanced version” with the still, crappy game engine mechanics.

Tekken 6, needs to seriously modify the crush system/Bound System to really get me to wanting to pour my guts into the series like I once did again. Rage to me, doesn’t look as bad as it once did, like 3 months ago…where it was just absolutely stupid.

Now although I still believe is a bad implementation and is going to result in even bigger upsets, randomness, it’s been watered down, so I am pleased…if they just add a time limit to rage, then I’d be happy with it staying.

Too many vents though, I guess, though if I dislike Tekken 6 that much after a year of it’s release, I can at least enjoy getting customs for my characters. Some of what Lili is wearing is damn hot :lovin:

I love Tekken as well, but if this game is retarded, I will drop it within months.

Do you really play games you don’t like for almost a year?

Damn I hope that is something you made up. Is this installment for comic relief or what?

Surf and Destroy is right, Houston is getting Tekken 6 this month at Planet Zero. And I can’t wait to play it.

no im not kidding,

he has a hell sweep, go to tz if you wana see that stupid shit- and yes it is stupid- and i play KUma and i still find it stupid,

eddierang, do fix tekken sticks?

that is all

If you did play Kuma, then you would know he has always needed something like that.
Anyway, he has trained by Hehachi some I can’t see why you think it’s that unfathomable.

Anyway, I played the game yesterday (my nearest arcade has it) it’s just okay.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Cool, maybe you can give us a heads up about it, I taking into consideration that your playing the Tekken 6 Int. Ver. which is the one I’m most interested in knowing. Considering my Uncle lives in Japan, so he’s playing the Non Int. Ver.

You should test out the juggles+Bound, and see if they are as ridiculous as how I’ve always viewed them to be in T6.

I’m sure everyone in here knows by now that the North American version has been canceled right? Or at least thats what i’m hearing from my local arcade. Wes at PAGG was ordering a machine but his contact said it isn’t coming because apparently namco didn’t get enough pre-orders.

Again, you are fuckin retarded. Next time you have a thought, feel free to keep it to yourself as to not get your stupid on anyone else.

Kuma = Heihachi’s pet
Heihachi has hellsweep
Kuma learns hellsweep

You see that? That’s what those of us who live in the real world call logic. You should try it.

Anyway, bound+rage is broken, hell bound without rage is bad but not nearly as bad as people are making it. HOWEVER it can still be competitive and I’m interested in replacing DR with it.

In Tekken 7 you’ll probably be able to juggle characters up and down flights of stairs

like Tekken 4?

if so, I hope they bring back the roof-bounce!

Hmmm, okay.

Firstly, the graphics are amazing. The YouTube videos really don’t do the game justice.
The detail on the characters and stages is very good, it’s even better than Virtua Fighter 5.

Secondly, Bind (!B) isn’t nearly as bad as one would expect, actually I think it’s overrrated.
Most combos deal damage relatively similar to Tekken 5 Dark Ressurection.
The only things is now nearly every character has a wall to wall combo. It’s not that bad.
I haven’t yet seen anything stupid from !B by itself. However, when you combo someone to a wall you recieve TOO MANY OPTIONS. I feel that’s where you can get alot of combo/okizema damage from.

Thirdly, Rage? Pfft… Not a problem there really, if you play the game properly (use your head) your opponent never really gets a chance to use it. I did see some ridiculous damage result from the few times I saw it, but it was definetely not game-breaking.

Actually, I think I like the game quite a bit now.

Hopefully, Zakuta will give a mini review.
His Zafina (the character I want to main) is very nice, and I’m a scrub, he isn’t.

that seems like the next logical step,

i still maintain, that a kuma hell sweep is the most retarded thing ive ever heard of, this game is trash

that is all

The bolded and underlined part is my biggest problem, it’s not even so much the high damage…we’ve had high damage in Tekken 3. My biggest beef is that Everyone has a Wall to Wall Combo.

This makes us lose out in alot of character individuality, simply because regardless of whom you pick, Devil Jin or Kuma. Your playing with the Juggle+Bound mentality being the most dominant point for any character. Because it’s like the point of where, you have to juggle or get the bound if you want to do damage.

Not like in the older Tekken games where even something like Tekken 4, where Paul couldn’t juggle well, but his strength lied in owning you up on the floor, or Ling’s juggles where very weak, however if you tried to tech on her, she’d smack you up.

While in a game like TekkenTag, yeah, Mishima’s where wrecking machines, however Jin was a spacing+Juggling powerhouse, while Ogres being just as good, didn’t rely upon juggles but godly Oki’s to eat people up.

Juggling and Bound being the dominant force to me will water down the other aspects of Tekken imo. I just don’t believe in Tekken 6 going in the right direction at all with this.

To me, that’s a huge loss, I’ve admitted at TZ and I’ll admit it here, Rage isn’t as bad as it was 3 months ago.

Still, I’m going to try Tekken 6 out for myself though, simply because I like the series that much and I want to be proven wrong.

Kanye-ism: George Bush don’t care about character background!

Yay…Tekken 6 is coming out…what joy. Honestly the last good one that came out in my book was Tekken 4 and I can care less what people think about that. The only reason I got excited about Tekken 5 when it came out was because Asuka was in it and she plays just like Jun which is one of my favorite characters other than Julia and Nina. Its just seems way too combo-happy now, and the storyline got shot to pieces in T5 too and that was another reason why I liked the series. And that Leo character looks uber gay, everyone has wall combos out the ass, and it don’t look no different than T5DR. What happened to the varying levels of terrain and position change? Actual individual playability with characters? And why the hell do regular grabs/throws take damn near half or your damn health??? From what I saw in the video on youtube it doesn’t look like it will change its system anytime soon…and thats a shame. I’ll go as far as try it out because whether I like it or not I’m still a fan of the series but I doubt i’ll be able to hold interest for more than a month.

Does anyone here have access to International Tekken 6 IC cards?
If you do, then could you PM me. I need to ask some questions.

If you’re commenting on HER appearance, that’s because Leo is a chick. She’s very tom boyish
