The Tekken 6 Thread - December 08 for PS3 JPN port, no info on US/World

oh how I can’t wait to play my beloved Xiaoyu

should have my hands on this in about a week. Looks really interesting… but i still have my doubts.

oh cool
soo everyone knows there main? for me Nina ftw

Some of Steve’s bound/wall combos look as long as v-ism infinites…

Now that I think about it, I would rather put up with combos that mainly last one or two seconds longer than a v-ism infinite. But this isn’t about comparing a 3D fighter’s mechanic to a 2D fighter’s, so nevermind.

We still dont have an official street date for this game. wtf Namco?? I went to Gamestop to pay off my metal gear 4 reserve, and i saw Tekken 6 release date as 3/2/08…Is this a date for when pre-orders start??

I dont want that to be the shipping date and i dont have the game fuck that!!.

You do know the Tekken 6 hasn’t even got an international arcade release yet.
Tougeki 06 hasn’t showcased it, and the game still needs to be ironed out big time.

Your not seeing the game for a while.

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll just pre-order the game. Might as well pay for these games now that i have a lil extra cash.

That date at gamestop must be a pre-order date.

How has Lei looked so far? I only have Tekken 5 (not DR) in my area, so I’m stuck with his bottom-tier self. I haven’t gotten to play DR, but I heard he’d improved to upper-mid there. Anything on him so far?

Lei is reportedly top tier now and he looks it from the various videos all over the Internets.

forrealz? I never thought that would happen:looney:

i wouldn’t get too excitied, early days also those tier lists are not based on the international version i belive, take AK He was ranked A+ or A in the early versions now supposedly his DB3 is toned down which will hurt him, and you’ll probably see him drop down

That’s funny

WTF :confused::rofl:

Lei’s BEEN top tier even before T6. Such a hard and tricky character to use and fight. But of course the Mishimas are on top or will be on top.Seems like everyone has a death combo too, but with net updates those will be fixed I guess.

Don’t let Lei players tell you that Lei’s bad, he’s had strong BS for quite a while now. The problem is that other characters have overshadowed him thanks to their BS being easier.

Lei hasn’t been that good since the T3/TTT era, especially T3. In T5, he had to work way more then practically almost anyone else for damage, not to mention, his damage potential off of some of his best setups where minor compared to the average characters damage.

In DR, he did better, however simply because other characters where toned down, but he still had to work his pants off for his damage, not to mention he didn’t get all that much higher in the tier listing, because for some reason, he got a slight tone down from 5.0 to DR…which to me, makes no sense, since a character like him shouldn’t need to be toned down… You will on occasion have some great Lei players like blood who played an awesome Lei.

However that doesn’t mean Lei is the shit, that just simply means Blood is the shit with Lei. I remember Blood being really good with Lei in T4, arguably the worst Lei ever, however Jin was the great wall in that game for Lei sadly. That’s like the only time, I’ve ever heard Blood vent so much hate towards one character in any Tekken game.

Lei in the previous last two Tekken games had to work way to hard to get damage. It’s not like it was hard work for Great Damage, it was hard work, for okay damage.

However in T6, well…in Japan at least, Lei looks very solid, and looks to have improved from the previous Tekken games (T4/T5). Tekken 3 Lei, was arguably still the best Lei ever, because although he still required effort, the damage off of his setups where excellent, lolz, but then again, so many characters in T3 where insanely powerful.

For me, I wouldn’t mind having Lei as Top-Tier in T6. Because he’d be one of those top-tiers who would require alot of effort to play, aside from characters like Bob and Anna who look way too easy to pick up and get good at.

Blood as in Bloodhawk? The Hwoarang user? Tetsuo I think is the best Lei in japan currently, if not the world. And yeah, DR really did tone down alot of characters, but on the flipside I think that Mishimas got even STRONGER. Especially that cheap ass fucker Devil Jin. Bryan my main, did get weaker and lost an easy juggle starter, but he made up for it with Sway Kick, which has alot of advantages. Mainly you can distance/dodge an attack and counter attack, or simply just launch them with it but enter kick as soon as you see the Sway frames.

Tetsuo is handily the best Lei player ever, I thought I knew how to play lei untill I saw a match of his…complete eye opener. Anyhow I hope he’s at his T3 self, out of all the characters Namco wanks I really do hope he gets beefed in this game. Well him and Yohsi but from what I heard Yoshi still sucks lol

Blood as in Blood Red. From the NY area I believe.

Tetsuo is the best Lei in the world IMO. He really open my eyes to Lei’s options in high level play, and I hope that he keeps playing him in T6.

Embryo: There’s no way in hell that Yoshi sucks in T6. He was already strong in DR, and he recieved more improvements than nerfs. I think more people will start playing him as a result…he’s way too good.
