Is it possible to get a comprehensive list of places I could go for casuals/tournaments in the tampa bay/Pinellas Park area?

Play N Trade Tampa on Dale Mabry as well. Tong is really tight with the local scene and loves to throw events as long as there’s demand for it.
13 is absolutely a great place to start
I’ve basically played <20 minutes of SNK games before in my life and picked up 13 and have been enjoying it so far. It’s not that hard to pick up at all actually, you’d be surprised.
Yeah it stays true to most kof games as far as the mechanics and character list goes it is very similar to 2002 um, I played that to train for XIII
If you can execute combos in bbcs then you can probably do well in this game, the execution is fairly tight but it is easier then blazblue imho

I know the basics of the game thanks to a tutorial video of the fundamentals of the series like the Drive cancels or short hops and hyper hops. But I don’t know overall strategies.
Also, usually if i play a game casually having nice single player modes like blazblue’s story mode or brawl’s lots of content to unlock
Well kof has some unlockables as well as a story, mission, time attack and survival modes plus an arcade mode with ridiculous boss fights. You will also want to learn how to short hop and hyper hop on a consistent basis as this will be a major way for you to open up your opponent. Things like the hops and guard cancel rolls and blowbacks do alot to keep this game balanced. This way everyone has the ability to reduce pressure and create high/low mixups. Also having the ability to pick 3 characters really eliminates unwinnable matchups if you have a balanced team of course. And best of all it’s a real honest fighting game.

We’re going to try to run KOF Casuals this sunday at Serenity games for those interested and we should have it on PS3 and 360.
damn I plan on attending these it’s just that this weekend I have previous engagements in plant city, keep this going delly I got two other guys from my area interested it’s just a matter of scheduling and the holiday time period

Try everyone out and see who jive with. Then build a team like you would for marvel I.e. who’s your battery, anchor, etc.) mission mode in that game is a good place to start.
hit up dreamcancel.com create a forum account and jump into the character discussion to learn awesome detailed and specific combos for your characters not found in mission mode, also the srk wiki is pretty good
god I feel like such a noob >_> I thought the concept of drive canceling was going to be easy but it is not… at least I can short hop consistently
I’ve found that most cancels in KOF need to be done a bit earlier than you might be used to in capcom games. Just try doing whatever sooner and it’ll probably work
Yeah I noticed that in the tutorial mode. I felt that the move had to hit at least halfway to cancel but most of the time I had to start the motion before the first hit.
How many levels of mission mode do you guys think I should do before jumping into arcade/online

just make sure you know your AA options and typically stand jab is a good one, also have a good 0 meter 0 drive bnb down as well as a good combo that uses more meter for punishing.
For the canceling, kof is strict on the command inputs, for example if you input a perfect dp motion ending at df then do a hcb from the df it won work you have to go up to forward then do the hcb motion. I hope you can make sense of this it’s hard to type it and make it understandable. If you had 360 we could play online
