f.mk x2 done immediately after a throw wont work, different knockdowns require different timings. Explore how to time them yourself there are tons of possibilities.

Just wanted to chime in again and say that f.MK x2 oki setup is indeed dope as hell. Doing f.MK x3 to score meaty f.MK is a little tricky, but I’m going to keep practicing the timing, thanks again for the awesome videos.

Just wanted to thank you for the video. After maining boxer for most of SF4/SSF4 i got pretty bored with the game since boxers game plays the same for 99% of matches. I started trying out all the characters and i enjoyed dudley for whatever reason, started watching a lot of liquidsrk’s videos trying to pick up tips, and now that i got to this forum watched your videos.

They are awesome. Really good look at the basics im missing. I havent even pressed the mk button using dudley yet, cant wait to bring it into my game as a great tool for block strings to get back in closer. That alone will be a huge help. Defintely keep up the good work, im sure im going to be watching your videos quite often to pick up more tips. Ive only hit the overhead into jab once, and ive tried 40 or so times. The timing is crazy!

lol there were times in ranked where i stunned the enemy near death, and did HP Cross Counter as a taunt… so beast!

HAV brought up your back throw setup against dps, I tested it and it does work on ryus 3 frame lp dp but it doesn’t work any of the other ones because they move forward to fast. So it will stop some three frame dps just not all. Good to know I guess.

For a character specific video if you need help with any characters I have some character specific stuff I’ve been looking into. so If you ever do it that would be cool get better dudley info out. You also should jsut do a generic option select tutorial against a few characters as dudley has some good option selects that work on at least some of the cast.

In the tutorial the option selects at the end said " anti x+ safe jump) meaning it’ll work on x and beyond.
7 frame+ could be rufus, bison, balrog, Makoto ect.
I expect people to go into training mode after watching this tutorial.

I’d show character specific option selects for different characters if f.MK whiffs if you want.
(you ever option select an akuma DP then teleport with f.MK? feels good)

Hey thirtyfour,excellent tutorial!Nice to have some confrontation with other good theory-fighter dudley players.In my humble opinion,you are missing a crucial part of the dudley gameplay,which is my obsession since when i started playing him: THE BACKDASH.Many many people (including top players like Daigo or Sako) tend to backdash so much against dudley,so every dudley player should know how to deal with backdashing/focus backdashing people on their wakeup.Show some pros/cons of the tools dudley has against backdashes.A little example:

-F+HP on their wake up:
Pros: Heavy damage on their backdashes,goes in for mixup.
Cons: Heavily punishable if they choose to block instead of backdashing.

-F+MK OS ultra/Hp Lp Jet upper+Lp machinegun blow :
Pros: Pushes ppl to the corner,if they block the kidney blow you are near your opponent and +3.
Cons: Little damage if you dont have ultra and they backdash.

And things like these.

OS backdash with MP MGB works on everyone iirc

OS w/ HP JU works on a few

OS w/ LP JU works on even less

Good luck with getting f+MK OS U1 out and not get f+MK into U1 on hit or block as well.

All of dudley’s juggle are character specific in 3rd strike.Saying u dont need os hp ju/lp ju is like saying u dont need to learn all of character specific juggles in 3rd.I get f+mk into u1 or u2 constantly,and there are plenty of replays to show it,i just dont have a cam to record them,but they are in my rep channel.With u1 is even easier because on block/hit i get f mk+mk target combo.I think i got some experience with dudley playing him as a main since day 1,but these confrontations with other players are always likeable.

EDIT: Oh yes,option selects are part of the mindgame process of this game in my opinion.If i can os my u1-u2 i WANT to make my opponent backdash to tag him with ultras.Only dumb people would backdash when they see dudley jumping at them.But if they see him approaching on their wakeup ground to ground,they’ll more likely backdash.But that’s just my opinion.And in my opinion MP MGB as an OS jump against backdash is pretty useless.
