Ryu is pretty well balanced. He only excels at damage from punishes. Limit your mistakes and it takes away his most prominent strength

Ryu gets oki set ups off of light confirms from hk tatsu and has safe medium buttons that lead into more damage without meter than other characters get off of HP punishes/EX combo enders. His biggest safe damage comes from punishes no doubt but to say he only gets damage off of punishes is totally wrong IMO. Maybe in a vacum the numbers are kind of low but a bunch of other characters don’t get a lot of damage unless it’s a punish or they take a risk. At worst his non punish damage is on par with everyone else’s. I don’t think he’s over powered by any measure but he is over all very strong. I think his stubby buttons are a way bigger factor in keeping him balanced than his damage output.

Nothing. He has 3 buttons for multiple angles, an AA fireball and another 2 or 3 godlike air to airs.

Most of Urien’s moves list points to the sky. Of course he has options. People just love to downplay everything hoping the buff train arrives at their door faster.

I think HK is actually kind of a shitty AA on Urien because of the buffer from b.hk. Jump HK works better in my limited experience.
