SF x TK Jin in this game would be awesome and a unique addition as far as playstyle goes. That’s why I want him, and it’s only come up as a possibility thanks to Akuma in Tekken 7.

That’s the point. This isn’t SFxT. It’s SFV. I’m tired of this guest character bullshit. There are over 60 characters that have been playable in the SF series. That’s not including the unplayable characters that have been introduced. Not all of those characters will be added. This isn’t SFxT nor is it Tekken. It’s Street Fighter. Wasting resources and money on a guest character is asinine. Especially when fans of your series have been waiting for, decades in some cases, their character to return the franchise. A Jin Kazama fan has numerous recent games to enjoy his play style. Sodom fans, for example, have been forever alone since 1998.

He’s the only one I could think of off the top of my head that I see using it often.

Tokido’s Ryu uses his v reversal a lot. Birdie, Sim, Bison, Guile, Cammy and FANG use it really often too.

Skill, not Reversal. Though I forgot about Necalli, Birdie and Guile. Gief is some match-ups. But I still maintain most of them see relatively little use.

Necalli, Karin, Gief, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Birdie, Cammy, Rashid and Dhalsim use their V Skills a lot, Laura uses hers sparingly.

I am sure 90% of the people complaining about Chun never even played a truly good one and myself being a Chun player know what it takes to be a good one, I am not there yet but hopefully one day i might get close.

My perspective on the move is mostly that it doesn’t have enough risk associated with it. That is it, mostly. It is a meterless option that can get stuffed but the penalty for that isn’t that severe and not all member of the cast have good enough tools to shut it down.

I also do understand the importance of the move to Chun because without it she has no throw pressure game, ZERO. If Capcom went too hard with the nerf to this move then the character will fall to mediocrity extremely hard. It is a good tool to have and a fun one at that but all i think should happen is a better risk/reward associated with it.

Yeah the move needs some kind of nerf. I personally just want it gone because few nerfs to the move would leave it being a good move while not being dumb good or vice versa where any nerfs basically make it bad.

My tries to balance it would be:

Keep it as it is, but make it require ex.
The mk version becomes the hk version.
The hk version becomes the current ex version.
The lk version becomes a highly nerfed version that is like -2 on block.

So basically everything stays the same except Chun now has to use meter to use the move. A decent nerf, but not one that breaks Chun imo.

The other thing I’d try is to make it same as it is now except it becomes +2 on hit. So basically it can’t start combos anymore. Still good for pressure and to setup throws and frame traps and shimmies, but no longer is a move that also gives combo.

To me these are some of the better ways to nerf the move.

If however the move just gets nerfed to be like -2 on block or something but still combos on hit… It will basically be a useless move and Chun will have huge problems and will probably drop to low tier or mid tier and her weaknesses will be exacerbated.

But yeah, iall does need some form of nerf. It doesn’t currently fit in sf5.

As far as the v reversal talk… Um no, v reversals don’t need buffs. Certain characters maybe, but the mechanic as a whole is actually probably to good and overshadows v triggers in many respects:

1. Less meter for a v reversal than a v trigger
2. Drops your dizzy
3. Stops aggression from an attacking player
4. Gives white chip which instills a momentary advantage to the defending player

If it were me I would just make v reversals give less damage/white chip and buff the bad v reversals.

No it’s not. Akuma being canon in Tekken doesn’t make Tekken canon to Street Fighter. Just that Tekken has it’s own version of Akuma.
