come to think of it, I also used to go easy on gief players when I played sim since that m/u just felt like taking candy from a baby. I guess I just don’t have the competitive mindset, but then again I suck too much to compete anyways so who cares.
Anyone can compete, to win is another matter.
Competing is good because it lets you learn from players you wouldn’t regularly play against.
I think the learning experience is the best part of tournament play
I did win 25 bucks at a local once tho
I ate well at taco bell that night
I love part 4, it took V to make me appreciate it. Kappa
V is shaping up though.
The announcer is so much more hype in SF4 (not the vanilla one, talking about super) SFV’s announcer (the guy and girl) are fucking awful, most people don’t even know they’re there, they always forget when I ask them if they like the V announcer, they say " Oh yeah huh, there’s announcers in this game. "
Problem is, people rage quit after their first tourney, or few months.
Had a funny guy go to my locals in SF4. Then one week I beat him with Rose after grinding a few hours, and Cammy in the mirror match. He was like “Fuck this, I’m not good, I’ll go play 3S”, then rage quit that after a while too. I’m like bruh, for 2-3 years I went to locals almost every week. Won 3-0 in grand finals, lost 6-0, stop getting salty and learn from your ass beatings. Plus it feels good when you lose to someone and beat them the next time you face.
I lost to a dude 3 times Bison/Ibuki because I lacked knowledge. 2-0 2-1 and 3-0 I lost. Sat down, studied the matchup, won 3-1 the next time and he complained that I was basically a wall until he was cornered. Same went for a Rufus, always lost 3-2 and 2-1, studied it. Mission complete.
