The Street Fighter V Lounge: Tron Bonne rumored as DLC

Kecka was making Bison great again, but in an amazing turn of events Peevul is now 4-1! Will Shadaloo find its old glory again?
And yes he did! Go Lord Bison!!!

We cycle through buttons like special orders on the McDonald’s menu

MFW Peevul tried to parry an entire Bison’s CA but missed the last hit.

Phew, GG’s @Kecka

I really want to see this.
If @Kecka or @PVL_93_RU are on later I want some matches (really anyone)

It is over. @Kecka steals the title of SRK scrub champion by losing 8-10! What a breathtaking set!!
My thoughts on it are coming after the ad break.

@A10metal please don’t tell me you want a FT10 too

Actually, I think he parried two hits and missed three.

Also, good games, @PVL_93_RU . You had some really sweet DP game going if it wasn’t just all reads. Though I deserved to lose way bigger with how shit my AA game was and the fact muscle memory made me do Inferno on block. That’s actually a pointer for future Bison matches. Medium Inferno is like -14 on block, so you can just punish that like crazy. I think you only swept me once after it. I just sat there like “if he knew the frame data, this would be a 10-1 set”.

I really liked the backdashes out of MK scissors range too. Never seen a Ryu do that to me before.

I actually don’t know what happened with the CA parry. Was I too slow or too fast? Or too far? IDK

I guess input analysis is needed

Maybe I ask why you think Birdie gives Chun problems? It’s the other way I thought.

The matchup is so bad for Karin that Mago 3-0’d Nuki at SoCal Regionals 2 weeks ago.

I think his CA is only 3 hits and the other ones are triggered only if one of them hits. Laura’s EX fireball for instance can cancel his entire CA.

So overall I think you’re both not as scrubby as you make it look like. You have both a few common flaws in your game:

  • you barely ever mix-up and keep using the same strings over and over. I must’ve seen 6-7 throws or throw attempts in the entire set, most of them in a single throw loop sequence
  • you seem to forget that you have light buttons outside of wake-up
  • you quickrise/backroll less often than you should. You should always quickrise unless you want to mess your opponent’s frame perfect meaties.

More specifical things about each one of you:

@Kecka

  • you started by misstiming a few grabs after hitting him an air button and then you completely stopped using grab altogether. I think you should really integrate Bison’s throw in your game since it has amazing range and you can also tick throw (with st. LP I think).
  • you tend to use the same sequence over and over (st. HK, cr. MP xx Inferno). You got really lucky that Peevul never punished you and ate your frame traps like he was starving but I think you should try other sequences too.
  • I think you lack optimal punishes for many situations. You looed always unsure on what to do when you blocked a sweep or a shoryu. You should try to memorize at least a light, a medium and a CC punish to use when needed.
  • your set started going wrong when Peevul began baiting your jump ins and punishing with DPs. Try staying more grounded when you can’t cross-up.
  • the fact Bison indeed has horrible AAs shouldn’t prevent you from doing anything but block your opponent’s jump-ins. Try focusing on that and doing jump forward buttons (I don’t remember which are the good ones for him), or even slide under the jump.

@PVL_93_RU

  • your V-bar. You almost never use it. Why?
  • train yourself to block cross-ups because I think you literally ate every single one Kecka did
  • Bison’s st. HK is +3 on block. You can’t press any button after that, only DP.
  • EX tatsu isn’t a legit wake-up you silly
  • you have an upsetting tendency to confirm combos even if you got blocked. This wouldn’t be annoying if all your combos didn’t end with shoryu.
  • on that note, the st. HK > st. LP/LK link should usually end with tatsu, or with H shoryu if you want to confirm into CA. But you better just learn to stop the combo if your st. HK is blocked, you have a lot of time for that.

In short you’re both not bad at all, you should just spice up your gameplan a little if you wanna progress further.

(Beware that part of these remarks might not be valid since I don’t know how much lag there was actually between you two and if the fact I was hosting the lobby was unintentionally adding more rollback)

Spammed v-reversal for that target, and won. Rematched the guy, “all right, now I can play seriously” and lost. Really makes me think.

So was CT Nu and Arakune vs CT Hakumen. :disappointed:

I think birdie has the ability to bother chun when she is on her sweet spot with his normals more than other characters could, on of the best anti air buttons in the game shuts down her air attack, low health+stun vs godlike damage, can get banana and can on ground with ease due to non far reaching projectile ect ect.

It’s not a blowup or anything it’s just I see what chun does really well being stopped or contained by birdie.

  • Uh… I dunno, I just kinda don’t. I activate V-Trigger whenever, never use V-Reversals
  • Yeah, I’m completely free to crossups and tick throws, this shit gets me ALL the damn time
  • Well shit… more DPs for me I guess
  • I know it isn’t, I’m just trying to have fun. It’s not like I’m ever going to a tournament anyway
  • I only know to end with shoryu, because my tatsus always whiff
  • I try to avoid ending with Tatsu > CA because I never manage to get the input done in time, DP seems like a more reliable way

And I dunno how about Kecka but for me there was no rollback at all. Sikly smooth 18 matches.

Anything else you’d like to point out, like via a deeper analysis?

like if this guy would give a single F uploading any entertaining vids if he wouldn’t earn any $ from these
taking full commentary archived streams from teamspooky, evo, capcomfighters ( thebeast got the same uploads ) and earning $ from their effort and making this blog wtf FGC

lol at irrelevant youtube drama

No, it’s 5 before the cinematic. I’m 99% certain seeing as how I spent a lot of time trying to find the optimal way to combo into it off Inferno.

And yeah, I fucked up a lot of stuff. Part of it was probably just nerves knowing someone was watching and playing against someone I “know” for the first time (or at least I try to convince myself that). I mainly focused on not using so many dumb jumps and random stomps (there was that period early on when PVL took like 4 or 5 games in a row thanks to that shit). I actually did try an optimal CC punish (st. HK, Psycho Axe, cr. MP, Inferno), but the timing on the Axe cr. MP link is both weird and pretty goddamn strict and I have a hard time hitting it consistently (case in point, it was blocked) so I went for the guaranteed damage rather than try to up my execution game in the middle of a match. I really need to stop using Inferno so much and remember to use EX to finish off combos for that 50 or so extra damage every now and then, though. Also, V-Trigger more just to tack on a little bit of extra damage. I also misjudged the spacing on a few Psycho Axe CCs and went for st. HK that whiffed instead of another Axe (again, because I know I have a hard time comboing off Axe). But yeah, like I said, if PVL had known Inferno was -14 on block, I’d have lost way harder. Or maybe stopped doing it eventually, who knows?

And yeah, game ran smooth as fuck, actually. There wasn’t a single point where I felt I could blame lag for any mistake made.

Yup. My team is

-Milky boys-
Lance Chun (alaska) (me)
Pherai Akuma (so cal)
Nate Yang (from NY but lives in Tokyo)
Karapalm Yun (nor cal)
Trevor Ken (Texas)

Identical team to last year. There’s a chance Trevor will team with Texas instead, in which case we’ll have to scrounge up some other white guy to be on the team
