This was pretty much the entire basis for my “mixup” game with blanka in SF4. jab xx elec mixed up with walk forward into another one/cr.mk or walk back sweep/cr.hp (rfc) or slightly delayed kara throw with a mix of walk back and walk forward depending on where i was spaced.
Why i was initially drawn to vega in this game cause he can actually do stuff at those ranges and has enough walk speed to just walk out of some stuff people will do after blocking stuff.
I’m starting to get tired of Juri players who start EVERY SINGLE ROUND backing up in the corner to store fireballs. Did the even figure out that you can hit and knock down the opponent with that storing move?
Speaking of Juri’s store…the hurtbox on that thing is freaking massive. Like, the hurtbox goes all the way forward to the end of where the move effect extends to (in otherwise, way past her leg) and stays out there for quite a while. It’s stupid easy to whiff punish.
Doesn’t help that the store itself only does 30 damage/30 stun so it’s rarely worth going for as a poke. It is -2 on block though at least…but you’d have to get in first. So I don’t blame people for dashing back to try and store.
uh…are you sure you got the right guy? i dont remember sayin anything about hitboxes regarding that vid that Ein posted up about her CA scaling. all i did was give him a link to post up in the juri forums cuz i think he may have lost where exxactly the character subforums were at since they reformatted the forums a month or two ago.
Okay so Juri’s usual BnB with her stored specials is something like st.hp/b.hk xx qcf.mk > cr.mp xx qcf.hk, but if you do the qcf.mk and then link into st.mk xx qcf.lk you can get a mix-up situation from the fireball, it’s pretty good. Sustains her pressure really well and because of her ridiculous walkspeed it doesn’t matter how far back you are, you’ll get point blank in time.
Imma buy body bad and make sure everyone here on SRK is in it. Especially @Rugalitarian . Only person so far to escape it was @LordWilliam1234 but he soon will succumb to his defeat.
As funny as that is, it’s not an actual punish. If Mika does a meaty normal throw and Alex backdashes, she’s at +3 at best. It’s a horrible situation to be in, but you can jump out. Now Birdie on the other hand is not so lucky. In any situation where Mika is at +3 and whiffs a normal throw against Birdie’s backdash, she can recover fast enough to punish with a throw or anything else that’s 5 frames or quicker.
