The Street Fighter V Lounge - Smashas in the Club Doing Aegis Reflector

If only KOF got a PC release so I could join you in the cheapness.

(Nakoruru/Kula/Shun’ei is probably who I’d try)

You should know the fgc only fucks with console, too poverty.

Playing Nakoruru in KOF14 would probably just make me wonder why the fuck am I not playing a new Samurai Shodown instead

Isn’t the there is a super hot maid like chick from Samurai Showdown?

I am not sure what is her name but have seen her a lot on Deviant art

That’s nakoruru

She’s pretty good

I have kof 14 so I am familiar with Nak.

I just googled it. Iroha is her name. I like it.

That bird is a pain in the ass.

Yeah Ryu and Nash are too different to make that statement. They excell and faulter in different areas with very little overlap.

I rather fight a good Nash than a good Ryu shrug

Well I remember someone mentioning wanting to make a new ShamSho back in the mmcafe interviews. I think they mentioned wanting something like a gorey (not like MK levels I think) shamsho. You’d have to read it yourself.

A good Nash is trying to run away as soon as you manage to catch him. A good Ryu doesn’t even look scared, he’s like COME AT ME BRO I’M GONNA SHORYU AND MEATY GRAB YOU TO DEATH

You could just play Ibuki in SF5

If Ryu was released as part of the Season 1 DLC characters:
[] His only invincible move would be EX Shoryuken
[
] He couldn’t combo Medium punch into Medium punch without counter hit
[] His V-trigger would be 3 bars
[
] Tatsu while looking airborne can be thrown
[] His only frame positive blocked moves will be Jab, light kick
[
] Jumping lk would only get the extended hitbox in V-trigger
[] His V-skill will be two separate input moves. High parry and low parry
[
] This is just poking fun at DLC characters
[] His throw will reset the game to neutral
[
] His V-trigger would be used in two fireballs.
At least bison can AA nash without losing/trading all day. Fucking Ryu j.lk.

Since you brought it up, I went back through the match-up thread and made a new match-up chart:

Still a WIP of course, need more input in the thread to make this better. But if we go by this, that would make the tier list something like this (characters are ordered within tiers):

S Tier

Ryu, Necalli

A Tier

Nash
Chun-li, Ken
Vega
Cammy
Karin
Guile
R. Mika

B Tier

Juri
Laura
Dhalsim
Birdie, Zangief
Alex
Ibuki
Balrog

C Tier

FANG, Rashid
Bison

Some of these are more lack of input than anything (e.g Guile and Balrog I think would probably shift quite a bit, Rashid could probably be at least in B tier, Ryu will probably drop down a bit), but it’s interesting seeing tiers form from this.

For further discussion, go here: SFV Matchup Chart. S2 Boxer vs Guile; Urien vs Gief; Ibuki vs Sim; Ryu vs Vega; Juri vs FANG

I played some Bison yesterday and in ranges that it actually works(Not point blank) cr.hp is a very reliable anti-air for where it anti-airs, this would be fine if Dictator had his original walkspeed

I’m still convinced that Ryu is the SFIV version of Vanilla Sagat. Once people learn proper defense and how to punish FB properly he becomes average with his saving grace high damage output and quick meter building.

Look for more inconsistency from Daigo and Tokido as the game progresses.

People still think managing 5 mediocre anti airs is better than hitting jab? Cmon

I find this table very weird for Ken. I don’t think Vega is a 3 -7 matchup, I think Ryu is 5/5 and I think Chun is definitly not 5/5 but closer to 3-7, at least 4-6.

Yeah he has a similar issue to Vanilla Sagat. Good when people don’t block, but theres scunmier characters that can open you up quicker and you cant play the patience game against as well.

Like Vanilla Sagat, people like him cuz hes damaging when he lands something and can protect himself well, but when he has to deal with someone else that can wall themselves with better offense he starts to slow down. Once you put him in a situation where hes forced to press then you just react or anticipate what hes doing and beat it. Then pressure him when you get room to do so.

His offense is too straightforward in a game where the other best characters can control space and work to open you up on a dime. No surprise lately that we’re seeing people able to control Ryu better than Mika or Ken.
