Nemo beat Yukadon in a japanese tournament last weekend spamming wall dives. He’s probably not too far off from making that matchup even or slightly in his favor until Infiltration can bring some new tech to the table
Yeah I think Nash mains do down play him, but not as much as he gets hate just because he can play lame.
Edit: @“Spinning Beat” Vega would be paraplegic status if he won EVO, and he would most definitely get hate. Hell, I always got shade for playing Vega in 4 despite the fact he was garbage in that game.
Juri is fun and I like her pokes, and I’m glad her forward dash is really good. My only gripe at the moment is that her punish game feels extremely weak without V-trigger stocked. Though maybe I’m just spoiled by Ken’s damage potential
I’ll be off to bed here in a little bit but I should be good for more games tomorrow.
The main thing I’m afraid of for Nash is that Capcom admitted that they didn’t realize he could be played the way people are playing him now. Knowing that Capcom doesn’t want zoning to be too strong, hopefully they don’t kill his shtick of being the offensive zoner with poor defense.
Capcom will probably nerf Nash’s Sonic Booms (increased recovery), make LK and MK scythe easier to punish, and give him some very minor buffs to his up close options.
I don’t think Nash really needs to be nerfed or anything but I can see Capcom doing that.
I hope Capcom surprises me and gives the cast nothing but buffs though.
Juri’s forward dash is 16 frames. It’s the same speed as Ryu’s forward dash but I think it goes farther.
I think the fix to Nash is pretty simple. Make his forward dash animation more obvious to lower the effectiveness of his dash/throw tactic. If that isn’t enough then nerf his c.MK range to what Guile has
Someone quoted Matt or someone else in the Capcom office saying it a while back. Can’t remember where exactly the source is from, but that’s what they supposedly said. It makes sense since Nash’s ability to control screen space and have a solid fireball seems a bit out of place. At least as far as the “close ranged fighting” Combo talks about when describing the game. Not that there’s anything wrong with that because I don’t feel like people should be completely babied from zoning and a character that can move in and out of space. Ryu also has a strong fireball for this game, but he doesn’t have the movement, buttons or mix up of Nash.
He adds a much needed variety to the neutral game in a game of otherwise very footsie or offensive oriented characters.
