The Street Fighter V Lounge - McRibs for the good, The Purge of 2016 for the bad

What is the timing to tech a throw when an opponent walks under and attempts to throw?

I don’t disagree with PR’s comments about SFV but the game is still to early and I’m sure it will improve in time. I should also add that he says he’s confident in his footsies but as far as I can tell he only has SF4 as a reference point so…yeah I dunno maybe wanna rethink talking about footsies there.

Maybe you shouldn’t assume people haven’t played games?

Nothing like getting matched up with a 1000 LP player as platinum. Yeah right I will re-match that shit. The points you get at the end count up slow like some poor bitch is paying in one dollar bills.

I don’t doubt that he has but he’s mainly known as a SF4 player beyond anything else.

I really doubt PR Rog started with anything (tournament wise) other than IV. He was never heard of before then.

Banana Ken on the other hand uses to go by the name Frodo (IIRC) and played Denjin Ryu in 3S. Not sure what happened to him now.

Either way though PR Rog has had enough experience with plenty of post dark age fighters to have an opinion.

You can’t really use “he’s only known for SF4” as a point against his footsie game when he played fucking Balrog in that game.

edit: I just remembered that he also dabbled in such gimmicky, neutral-skipping characters as Fei Long and Evil Ryu.

Just because he hasn’t played other games competitively =/= he hasn’t played them.

I got shot up on stream for that when I believed Justin Wong only played Capcom games only for Spooky to tell me he has played Tekken before competitively…and he was at a DOA5 event at one point(with a few other players from other games) which I only remember now.

So yeah there’s a lesson for you kids.

I knew J.Wong from way back. Hes good at niche stuff that isn’t even fighting games. Magical Drop 3, Mario Kart DS (got top 3 at Evo in it) and other weird shit. He was one of the best Diddy Kongs in early Brawl and at my local tournaments they would purposely rig the brackets and not tell him his matches were up because they were salty at how good he was.

He would win local Tekken 5 tournaments on a pad too

PR Rog has been playing since ST, so he at least has a good history with SF. It’s also his fav SF. As mentioned, SF4 was the game that brought him into the limelight, but he’s shown he has a great understanding of fighting games in general.

I just want to rant, vent and waste time by saying that this game’s online is FUCKING SHIT! In my pointless, meaningless grind to get to level 50 for a dumb ass pointless, worthless title, I’ve been grinding like hell. But this games online infrastructure is so SHIT that 5 out of every ten games will FAIL TO SEND TO SERVER! 51,000 points isn’t a small number. And it’s made even bigger by the CONSTANT failure to send match data. Jesus, WHY is this game’s online so fucking bad? Street Fighter IV never had this many problems. Pathetic! Rant over…for now.

Well it looks like I was mistaken as I assumed SF4 was his only point of reference.

Can people MOD the game to make me get p2p only? People hacked the way info comes and goes so the servers doesn’t get the results when they lose, so I’m wondering if a p2p-only mod would be possible.
The thing is, when I’m with a friend waiting in the lobby, it shows full bars, but 80% of the time, we get relay connection in the fight. That would explain the one-sided lag, since there is times one of us get p2p while the other gets relay.

The last time I saw BananaKen was Persona Arena, I think he competes in BlazBlue as well but I haven’t seen him pop up anywhere this year yet.

Is it just me, or has the matchmaking improved slightly? Used to get nothing but bronze, now I’m getting matched 50/50 with silver and bronze. Soon the game will start matching me with gold!

When I search in Europe I get a lot of platinum players, I’ve also come across @LiangHuBBB a couple of times now.

Competition is great, I only tend to play early mornings or weekends though and get good results from short sessions. I play top 300 rangers roughly 60% of the time when I search for someone.

(I’m a casual only guy, don’t deal with that rage quit bullshit)

Where is that nigga even from bro?

This is an honest question. I was getting high last night I was thinking: “Flash is from Florida, Sanford is from NEW YAWK, Devil Jin, Steve Harrison, Myself and K-Brad are from Maryland, Snake Eyez is from Cali along with Brent and some other players, but where is Justin from?”

No, it is worse for me than a month ago. I get a sea of bronze and silver at platinum.

Justin is originally from NY. He lives in Cali now now.

Justin is from New York. He just migrated over to Cali around the time SFIV was getting big and other east players like Chris G followed suit.

Justin learned his play style from east coast turtle legends like Eddie Lee. Eddie Lee was the original lame turtle player and he passed his skill down to J.Wong.
