What did he do?

I already wasn’t all that interested in the game, but figured I might give it a shot at some point. AlphaZero constantly bashing SFV and trying to push KI as the best thing ever that everyone should play just got tiring and made me less interested in actually playing it; it just reeks of desperation.

Same reason I probably won’t be playing Guilty Gear. Not much interest to begin with but still felt like I might give it a shot at some point; the “shills” (not the right term to use here but I don’t have a better one at the moment) kept pushing it while bashing SFV, and killed off said interest for me.

If they’re what the communities of said games are like, I want no part of it. Dealt with enough of that kind of crap from my local.

Those are horrible reasons to deprive yourself of great games.

I already have other reasons for not really liking them (hence the not much interest parts), the stuff I mentioned there just sealed the deal.

I hated KI for a while, even after playing it a bit at a friend’s house a few times. Eventually, the more I saw it the more I wanted to play it. Then it came out on PC and I gave it a real shot. No regrets. Such a good game.

I’m at a point where I can fight platinum level players but a lose a lot due to match-up inexperience which I guess is normal.

For example, I’m having a lot of trouble with Cammy because I try to anti-air her divekicks and get stuffed out. It feels like every Cammy is like a guaranteed loss right now, especially if they pick up early on that I don’t know what to do about divekicks. I play Chun and I generally have good anti-airs but LK seems to trade unfavorably/lose to divekick unless I get it very very early.

It’s getting harder to understand how people still think Cammy is not top 3. Amazing anti airs, reversal, 3 frame normals, great walk speed

5 frame super that hits anywhere on the screen!

People say her approach moves are easily stopped but I dunno that’s just sfv. You still have to be ready to snipe divekick, spin knuckle, and hooligan. It’s the same thing as fighting Mika in nuetral. Drop kick isn’t that scary until you’re also looking for shoulder and jump.

I swear to fucking god if there’s anyone I hate more than** Guile **and Bison…it’s fucking Birdie. I don’t play enough Birdies online so it’s impossible to learn the matchup. Then when I finally play one I get bodied so fucking hard. I just have no idea what to do against him. I really fucking hate Birdie.

I hate that stupid jumping grab he has. Yeah I know I’m supposed to neutral jump it, but I just can’t react to that bullshit. I fucking HATE HATE HATE HATE Birdie and his motherfuckin Steve Harvey lookin ass. I can’t stand looking at him, I can’t stand fighting him, I just fucking HATE HIM!

FUCKING BIRDIE MAKES ME SO FUCKING MAD!

I usually keep my cool playing SF because it’s just a game, but FUCK BIRDIE!!!

You can jab her out of all of that, and throw her out of most. She’s good, but pretty damn linear. The few tricks she does have only work the few couple of times. After that, you have to get pretty creative and play solid to open people up. Top 3 is not where she belongs. Definitely not when you have characters like Ryu, Chun, Karin, and Nash.
