The last third of the series was a little sloppy, but Death Note is still good. I feel like Code Geass did the whole “villainous protagonist” thing better, though.
If anybody is actually interested in anime released in the past 5 or 10 years, let me know. There’s so much good stuff out there that are better than the stuff we all remember seeing on Toonami/Adult Swim/YTV/Teletoon or whatever we all watched when we were younger.
