My only problem with Rog is no matter how much I’m outplaying the player, he clips me with the resources he “earned” by getting bopped up and I probably just lost the round or I’m in the most shitty situation ever. Now it’s magnified because his normal pressure is a lot stronger.

Yesterday I played ranked for the first time in prolly 4 months… won 80% of my matches and I didn’t feel like I even needed v trigger comebacks… not as much as I needed them with him S1… his tools have been buffed considerably

The simple fact you had no fucking idea what you were doing already makes it painfully clear you need to figure out WHY someone would perform a reset, as opposed to just reading it’s definition. Like when you make videos I legitimately have no fucking clue what your intention is. You MUST know how fucking stupid the stuff you post actually is.

Tell me what the fuck you thought your resets were accomplishing.

If you didn’t know what a reset was, why the hell would you argue with everybody trying to correct you? Just admit your mistake and fess up to it. Nobody is going to make fun of you for being a new player or not knowing things about FGs so long as you display a willingness to learn. Even the posters on here who have a reputation for being rude have ALWAYS answered my questions when I’ve asked for clarification or admitted I didn’t know something.

Just chill and admit you were wrong next time.

It’s good that you have a desire to innovate and find new tech and I would encourage you to keep doing so regardless of what anyone here says. But don’t assume that everything you find in training mode is actually going to be useful. Next time you have a clip to share ask us if you think it’s useful or not instead of just boasting about how good it is.

A reset is when you put your opponent into an air borne state

A reset is when you stop a combo early to go for a mix up.

The word came form MvC2 which has an infinite prevention system involving the number of normal hits a character is taking. By stopping an infinite in random posts you would reset the infinite prevention system. In the case of magneto you would rom and randomly stop and go for another clean hit from either a tridash high, a low or a cross up high or cross up low.

The most common type of reset between here in and SF4 were doing a normal that gave you frame advantage on hit after they’d been dizzy for a while and then doing a throw afterward since your opponent expected you to finish the combo.

Complaining about Rog now? Well…kinda fair I suppose, going from Rog to Juri feels like one hell of a gamechanger. Damage lower, range lower, frame trap ability lower. Only thing I feel could be slightly too powerful for Rog at the moment is his damage output in VT. That’s it, his comeback factor is second to none. It outdoes Urien IMO.

When the CPT kicks back up I think the heat will be all over worldclass Rog and Urien players, still think Laura is being overhyped.

That is the only thing I think is OP. His damage has no need to be THAT ridiculous with that level of mixup. It isn’t just high it is totally absurd. If your character doesn’t have mix-up tools that necessitate the use of v reversal usage you are literally never winning the match until he is dead.

Mika can steamroll you from the beginning or whenever she wants (she kinda still can it’s just not as free). Rog tends to give you an illusion of actually winning before EX low or a stray poke catches you and leads into 50% or reset situation that’ll guarantee a dizzy and the round. Majority of my losses from Rog come from after I’ve taken a decent to significant life lead… So I guess those life leads aren’t really significant at all.

It wasn’t a reset, you were just hitting people with buttons that don’t combo together. You can also mix people up without them being airborne holy fuck.

Here’s a reset with Karin.

(Corner) cr.mp > St.mp xx JF tenko > (whiff) cr.lp > cr.lp(air reset) > mix-up

Here’s another reset for Mika

(Corner) f.hp > cr.mp(air reset) > mix-up

Do you see how these follow a pattern of actually having a combo beforehand? The entire point of the reset is to restart the combo scaling.

What you do is this

Hit opponent > hit them again with a button that doesn’t combo > do something unsafe that I can punish

Under no circumstances will that EVER work on someone with half a brain and understanding of this game.
