Patching bugs is a thing, changing the way a character plays is another one. You can’t just blow up two months of work on setups a day before the event.

Those were small things like pre jump frames and bugs, I expect those to happen again. Nothing that should adversely effect the characters though.

What’s the purpose of doing a patch right before CPT starts? Just to confuse the shit out of players?
Laura isn’t even as powerful as S1 Mika right now…

The whole reason behind not patching is the active season. You can tell what the outliers are without waiting a year.

They might take some stuff from laura, but she doesnt have too much stand out stuff so i wouldnt worry.

I mean from a logical standpoint, why would you change anything in the game after everyone spent 2 months adapting to the new balance and right before the beginning of the competitive season? There’s a reason why they released the changes now and not in February.
If they nerf her it will probably happen in S3, but honestly I’m not even sure we’ll see her that much unless Japanese players start picking her. Laura players will probably just perform slightly better and that’s it.
Would be funny if Mika still ends up outperforming Laura after all.

Release now so the changes get tested in the wild, and patch in February to make sure the game is as balanced as possible for the upcoming season.

It makes sense from a logic standpoint.

Whats fucked up is not saying anything about whats going on so people dont go all in on shit that might not be there.

Mika and Cammy are the easiest characters in the game to play, highly recommend them to new players actually, they’re both fun, even season 2 Mika.

It seems right now the only character deserving a nerf is Urien. But only one thing here or there, then buff the other characters. But knowing capcom they will just make Urien worse than in S1, and nerf some mid tiers.

Legit only Uriens and Rog that might need a nerf at this point. Both characters get waaaayyyy to much reward. Also reversal aegis not getting stuffed by meaties is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.

Mika is really underestimated. She might not even be low tier. Mika can still get EX peach off clap midscreen. She isn’t bad.

No it doesn’t. You might have to relearn combos and setups right before your first live event that you have worked on for 2 months. This is bad not only for mains but also for the others that have to adapt on the fly.
People have been skeptical with Ibuki and Balrog being allowed at EVO 2016 only 2 weeks after release and for good reasons. It doesn’t make much sense to balance things again when we don’t even have tournament experience to prove what’s really broken or a public beta that is intended for that.
