Nah, way this game works it seems that if you have throw invincibility frames on the first active frame of a grab then you’re invincible to the whole grab.
Anyways, this just shows that you have cancel frames up through something like 6 frames before recovery is over. It’s definitely an interesting gimmick, forces a 50/50 if you don’t have a metered DP! It’s a terrible design choice and a 1f cancel, but hey, that’s totally in line with 3S Alex so maybe it’s really just a callout

Hmm you’re right, it looks like there’s a window of a few frames (2 according to Ves) where you can cancel the chop earlier and catch the jabs.
Anything with any real hint of a diagonal hitbox you can’t roll, more horizontal jumping normals is what it can hit.
