I can give @Skort some pointers of where to start if he wants, but first i need to know what problems he is having.
For starters i would recommend to focus on the mobility options of your character. (Many players neglect the spacing game, and many times, it is what will keep you out of the preassure of your opponent)
I say that at least for the start also ignore most of the mechanics on the game and focus only on maybe the faultless defense (the barrier) and the burst.
Like with the spacing game, knowing when to use your barrier can help you throw the preasure of your opponent off.
Once you get accostumed to the basic combo options you can start trying to experiment with the roman cancels.
The same with the other defensive options.
Most of the know how comes with time, and you only frustrate yourself by trying to absorb all of the game at once.
Like any game, at the start you will lose, and maybe a lot.
But i think you can avoid a lot of headaches if you approach the game in chunks.
The easier than GG mostly came from BBCT and the fact that GGAC was the last GG.
As time went on, and Xrd becoming a thing, BB became more like what AC was, a game that required a good technical understanding of the game at high level.
Specially with some specific chars that are not beginner friendly at all, lol.
I am gonna try to port her to Blender later this weekend.
Maybe an option could be importing the nude mod, the only thing missing is her hair.
From that maybe it is possible to import the other parts.
I’ll be honest, my biggest issue is the fact that i hardly dedicated any time in the game. So i can’t really complain ,even though i did.
But to overly simplify things here are my issues :
i haven’t learned the game’s mechanics
i am approaching the game like it’s SF ,since that style is printed onto my brain
i have no clue when it’s my turn to attack
etc
I lack play time and i’m expecting too much, too soon i suppose. That’s why i kinda wanna save the trouble for Strive as it seems to reinvent some things and even though some GG fans seem to hate it , i view it as a good opportunity to get into the series.
@Highlandfireball was watching a Hoji stream and he was doing a replay critique for some guy named steve-o and you were in it. Think you won off kara ex dp. It was a good match!
Radeon has improved loads and the cost / value is better than nVidia. Having that said i always prefer nVidia because from my personal experience they are way more stable and run cooler.
I know that it can be frustrating when you get into a new game, and dont know where to start.
And since you say tht you are trying to apporach it like it was SF, it is why i recommend you to focsus on your mobility options first.
GG neutral is not that different from SF once you understand it.
Even with its airdahes and double/triple jumps.
If you know how to space yourself, and know some few bnbs you are already in good ground to steal some matches from more veteran players.
One thing i forgot is that something you should learn to use are your aintiairs.
All the aintiairs are unblockable unless they are defended with the barrier.
For starters you have the universal one 6P, it gives you upper body invul and many chars have dcent punish combos from it, and some chars can use them on the ground neutral as well.
As for your turn t when attack, that depends from your character in many cases, knowing what attacks you can use on wakeup, for example.
In many occasions you create your own ooportunities by using the defensive options.
It is why i say that is better to focus on the FD at the start.
It consumes your tension bar (super bar) but since you are 1st trying to get accostumed at the feeling of the game, you dont really need to worry about not having tension for roman cancels, at least at beginnign.
Lastly, i think that getting on Strive as your starter point will only work for strive.
They are essentially 2 different series, with very little in common.
