How did you manage to get halfscreen away? I was holding forward and mashing MP with Chun, that should have solved that problem
How much you have to work on the game to make it compatible with a rollback netcode depends from game to game.
If you have to remake your whole game then is very likely that you are making some chabby coding.
The problem really comes with how your mechanics work and what type of rollback netcode you want to implement.
Like i pointed out, one problem with this subject is that people use ggpo and rollback as one and the same, so they tend to confuse someone explaining that ggpo couldnt be good fit of x game as saying that x game wouldnt work with rollback.
With crossplay, it could be as easy like the flip of a theoretical switch, but many times what makes it impossible is the fact that many games rely on the servers provided by their host, like PSN, XBL, Steam, you name it, instead of their own servers.
So, if their host dont really play ball with corssplay, then you cant have it.
Of course, ther could always be problems that wouldnt allow to be that easy, like for example, the server infrastructure not being compatible with others from the get go, so you have to implement tools that work as a bridge between them.
Is something that we have seen happening on PC recently with how Stadia has their own infrastructure working on Linux, and games like Destiny2 cant have crossplay with other PC players without bungie working some extra stuff to make it happen.
And since the sales are not strong enough to warrant it, the stadia players remain isolated from the other pc players.
What’s with the cake?
Just saying that you can’t just implent Rollback with the snap of a finger (or GGPO) like most people tend to say.
“It’s there! Just put it into the game!”
If you run with your own servers, thats pretty much truth, but no FG outside of SFV does that.
So unless you get to have Steam and PSN connected… what should be the easiest option out of all the Crossplay options, this isn’t a thing they can just snap on.
Now the thing other thing is, the strawman of “Sony blocks Crossplay!” is gone at least, now people get even more eager to press for Crossplay…
Actually it would help if said people would just stop it to meme around with their dumb comments whenever a FG gets released on Steam, but that will never happen.
I think it’s your anniversary of when you signed up.
Just checked and yep…June 23, 2015 is my listed join date. Officially a 5 year man.
I must’ve been lurking for a while because I definitely have been coming to the site before that. I graduated in 2014 and the whole reason I got deeper into Street Fighter was so I could beat my high-school friends in SF4:AE
Cake is nice but her hair is actually my favorite part of the picture.
If I starred in Weird Science, she would be my Lisa. Girl is a 10 on a five point scale.
Just to clarify, when I was talking about the netcodes yesterday, I was talking about how a lot of companies didn’t build their games for at least their own attempt at rollback.
And honestly, I don’t get how a lot of them suddenly release old games with decent at worst netcode but the latest game has dogshit netcode. What happened to the whole “build around the netcode”?
Just to clarify, I don’t like the direction Guilty Gear Strive is going but it’s gonna have rollback so I’m gonna make it my one and only game until another game with rollback comes out, say KoF XV for example, but considering SNK recent dumbass moves that are eerily capcomlike, my confidence is rather shook.
What the Epic Exclusive are you talking about?
I don’t give a rat’s ass about epic exclusive, what bothers me is the lack of communication and the fucking disaster of the PC port.
Why are you getting surprised? SNK PC Ports have a good record of being trash.
In my experience all PC except the old Garou one are good, minor problems at best. Mostly they lack reset position buttons in training mode for some reason.
LOL WTF?
They could have said it was a Dark Souls character and created more buzz than…cricket chirps
Interesting mashup. I remember I still have For Honor free but have yet to play it.
When you get a chance check it out. I played it for a while around launch with my brother and he’s not into fighting games.
I know it’s probably changed alot since then but it was pretty fun.
