Not have them in the first place.
Nobody really liked ultras; then they went dumber with V-triggers. SF6 will just give the person who loses their first health the round win.

correct if I am wrong was there a fighter that did it right or something that standout for it’s comeback mechanic being implemented good?
This.
It’s the one thing that enables the anime bullshit, but SF never really gets it.
SF needs more universal defensive options. Preferably ones that aren’t tied to the damn comeback mechanic, right, V-Reversals!?
That’s supposed to be thing keeping v-triggers less common. Only problem is that the robbery v-triggers are usually better than trying to reset back to neutral and winning from there.
I think the downfall of a lot of these mechanics is that they exist as their own resource. Like you don’t give up anything to pop ultra in SF4. In MK11 you can breakaway a combo then wake up with Fatal Blow. It’s dumb.
Comeback mechanics are much more tolerable when there is resource management involved. Like in Injustice 2 you can’t break a combo/recover health then wake up with a super. In GG you can’t barrier block a whole bunch then come back and immediately burn a fuckton of meter on Roman cancels
The VR/VT thing is a separate but similar problem, and Pert covered most of it.
Another problem with it is that the meter VR is tied to is often way more valuable that what you’re using it against. Like you can’t VR some of these EX neutral bypass moves without crippling yourself. They’ll build that bar back in 10s while you’ve potentially lost access to your strongest tool for the whole round.
I’ll add in what a homie said when complaining about SF5. Paraphrasing for space:
Just have v-reversals do damage. They’re already wack and easy to bait.
So there you go.
Lol, even the official account knows what’s up…

Does the white health build the other persons VT? Because if it does there is no reason they shouldn’t do real damage.
I think so. Don’t feel like turning on the PS4 to double check though.
Another thing you have to look at is the non-attack VT’s. Making VR’s do damage doesn’t help them.
Here’s a hot take: V-Triggers, as a concept, aren’t bad.
There are good ideas behind all that terrible execution.
“It’s a comeback mechanic that you can influence so you can get the power-up earlier at your own terms.”
What went wrong with that?
For them to work like that, you need actual choice between ending combos with VS for V-Gauge or going for Oki/Damage/whatever with more optimized stuff.
Also, VS need to give more gauge.
This is something that P4A actually got right with their autocombos, they still have an use in high-level play regardless of character because you might want the extra meter they give instead of going for a better combo.
“It’s not just a cinematic damage dump like Ultras.”
You actually have good VTs that aren’t straight-up robbery VTs.
Ryu and Ken have simple power-up VTs that enhance their special/unique traits. Their VT2’s aren’t really that bad, working as mini-supers that play up the “comeback factor” more.
(Much like how BB’s Overdrive, the mechanic SFV X-Copied works.)
The problem begins when you have specials locked behind VTs or straight-up robbery ones.
“V-Reversals work as a deterrent so people actually get to choose between escaping a bad situation instead of going for the comeback.”
This obviously doesn’t work, especially because SFV characters are much more limited than Anime characters.
I do think the idea behind it was also an X-Copy of how Burst also uses up the same gauge as Overdrive in BB.
Naturally, it’s like comparing apples to oranges in terms of how a BB character can pull off a comeback without Overdrive compared to a SFV one without VT. Shame the devs didn’t get that.
My personal “fix” for V-Reversals is to have them either just cost an EX bar.
Having them cost an EX bar would give everyone a reversal at the cost of not getting to use those neutral-bypass moves (Hi Urien) or their CA for big damage. (Hi G)
So in short:
Make V-Skills more useable in combos and have them build more V-Meter.
Adjust VTs to Ken/Ryu-tier.
Make VRs cost actual meter.
It does.
They probably don’t want you killing off a VR. That’s literally it.
Honestly, all characters should have a “dodge” VR and a strike VR.
If they don’t want it to kill just give it a “can’t kill” exception.
I think that’s a terrible idea, but that’s exactly how they “fixed” chip so why not?
And yeah I’ve wanted that dodge/attack thing for a while.
It’s exactly how Dead Angle Attack works in GG.
Universal reversal out of block, costs 50% meter, can’t kill by itself.
It’s been working in GG for decades now, though I really think 50% is too much.
Having just done a bunch of research, you can save a lot of money by building your own gaming PC, but only if it’s high-end. There’s no savings for building your own low-end pc.
There’s good articles on PC magazine etc on the experience. It’s easy peasy compared to doing this in the early 90s.
Random aside but,
Whiff punishing ken’s sweep with Yun’s standing roundhouse and kicking fools halfway across the screen is a small life pleasure I’ve been enjoying lately. Puts a footprint right in their chest as they go flying.
Its good times.
If you wanna spend on a low-mid range rig now, might as well save up for a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.
They are gonna be $499 or at most $599 and can run games at 4k. And you don’t have to go through all the hassle of assembling parts. It works right out of the box.
Have you considered that there’s more to a PC than literally gaming and nothing else?
Also, do the next gen consoles even have backwards compatibility?
There’s also the matter of crossplay to take into account, we still not doing well on that front.
Gotta ask who’s getting what or get into the same trouble me and Spin are getting with Plus and Tubb where we all wanna play 30th but aren’t on the same platform.
