I used to play chess back in primary/secondary school, before quitting for a few years (mostly because I was a hella sore loser at that time tbfh). Then I got back into the game after the Norwegian chess craze started in 2013 when Magnus Carlsen became world champion. I played a shitton online and at Uni while doing chess.com-classes, and even won a blitz tournament in Oslo late 2014 (obviously not a very strong tournament but it was like 40-ish people at amateur level). Then my interest tapered off for a while and I’ve mostly been playing half-hearted 3-day games online since then, I’m probably like 200 rating below where I was 5 years ago and it shows.
I’m reactivating my chess.com-premium though. The mistakes I’m making are pretty stupid, and there’s no fucking way I’m letting anyone in my family be better at me at any game. Shit just got real. I’m gonna get sharp again.

Skullgirls won’t recognize my controller, how do I fix this?
First, try opening Steam Big Picture Mode and setting up a controller configuration there. That will usually get SG to pick up on it afterwards. (Mac/Linux users) If the above doesn’t work, you’ll have to manually define it in gamecontrollerdb.txt. Find this file by right-clicking SG in your Steam library and going to Properties → Local Files → Browse Local Files and then use SDL2 Gamepad Tool to create an entry that should be pasted into this file.
Found these, should fix your problem.
I honestly hope Big Picture’s general pad support helps, because it’s so much easier and works for every Steam game, but the SDL thing should work.
Did you actually set the buttons of your hitbox in it or did you just turn it on and tried going in-game?
I did the big picture set-up thingy and came to the conclusion that I would more or less have to download a driver to get it to work, got frustrated and walked away. I could give it another try
So I don’t know what the fuck my wife has done to this MacBook (she’s been using it while working from home) but even the most minimal tasks makes it chug harder than a frat boy trying to forget how much he hates his dad.
She told me I’m not allowed to touch it until she gets done with the project she’s working on, so playing SGs on steam is postponed

It’s the worst thing, my old laptop deadass couldn’t handle MS Paint and Google Chrome at the same time.
It still could run SG (On most stages. Damn train.) tho.

can talk about enemies too sometimes
but the thing is winquotes have been known to glitch out over the course of DBFZ history, talking about people not in the match. Thats what make me think this is legit cause its stuff that has happened before. That and lines/dialogue get recorded for new chars well the hell in advance of their actual release
