I wanted to address what happened at the end of the night. I’m not gonna put anyone in particular on blast but rather I want to address this to everyone that comes and will come in the future. So far Starbase has been able to avoid ALL conflict for the past 10 months. We aim to keep it that way. One of Starbase’s charms is that it’s a very welcoming and friendly environment and no one cares what type of person you were before you walked through the door. We just wanna play good games. I totally understand being salty, calling someone out or even down talking someone’s ability. It’s all part of the environment, but please don’t let it go past there. When you get loud with each other and out of control like how some people did last night, you risk taking away the session we struggled to create. Noise violations can easily make the police or chamber of commerce force us to close at an earlier hour, or get Bob fined. Either one would be severely damaging if not fatal to everything we’ve built. I won’t tolerate that shit at our session. This is going out to everyone, not just people from yesterday. Causing something like yesterday’s nonsense (ie yelling and getting in each other’s faces and being loud at 2am after I told you both politely to stop) will get you thrown out of Starbase without a refund. This is the first time it’s happened and I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt the first time, so consider this putting everyone on notice and please don’t make me have to address shit like this again. Next time, even if we’re friends, I will be telling you to leave if you don’t put a lid on it after I ask nicely.
All you people need to learn to not get scared when you see two grown men yelling at each other trying to setup a money match. Wolfgang has been me and Nima’s friend for like 2 years. We both called and apologized to him, and Nima even congratulated him on his win. I know a lot of people at Starbase are really sensitive to this kind of thing, but like Jay said, this is a regular thing in this type of environment. But real talk, this just makes me want to go to starbase even more.
