Yeah its march 8th at starbase and currently just the sanwa cabinet has HDR ill try to get the streaming and and red cab with HDR. The Wednesday crew always brings at least 4 madcatz arcade sticks to starbase so if you prefer those sticks have people bring them since my red cab is happ 360 not sanwa and the stream setup needs 2 controlers. were usualy covered on Wednesday but our regulars mi9ght not come for HDR since there all SF4 players and it might hurt there game
Wow…all those Wednesdays poppin’ in Starbase and you really don’t know any of us at all.
Los mentioned he had played HDR before SFIV came out. Terry 1 Hit Parry prefers HDR GREATLY over SFIV, Jose plays HDR, I played HDR before SFIV came out, etc. etc.
Also, I’m almost thinking if Starbase is going to have Happ’s, you guys should really get Happ Competitive Sticks. Those Happ 360’s are whack.
Really appreciate that man. I’ll try to come with several sticks myself. What format is HDR on, XBOX or PS3? Do you guys need help with system set ups, do you need us to bring anything, etc.?
I figured that most of the Wednesday crew didnt want to come because you didnt want to learn a new game or ruin your SF4 efforts you’ve been putting in. I’m not trying to sound upset i was just stating to the HDR guys if they wanted acess to the other 2 machines and prefered sanwa type joysticks to try and bring there own since i dont have any of my own and that not to exspect alot of Wednesday players to show i know that some said they would come but when i first mentioned starting another day with another street fighter game most people told nah i dont want to learn a new game but yes im excited that others from the regulars are wanting to come show up. and when i type here i always sound angry though im not its just the way i type i have ANGRY FINGERS!!!
well to be fair, i doubt alex ben will show up for hdr, and i wont for obvious reasons cause of my schedule. i think it’s awesome that there is so much enthusiasm to get another recurring starbase session though.
It’s Xbox. There are two dedicated setups plus usually one other that is the stream setup. I can bring another setup plus evo monitor if needed. Art, I wouldn’t worry about playing HDR a couple hours a week messing up timing in 4. After playing for a year, that game is all muscle memory at this point.
I wouldn’t put it that way. I definitely like SFIV a lot, I’m just better at HDR / HDR has a better online mode. Whenever you hear me saying I hate SFIV I’m really just making excuses. -_-’
Also it’s worth mentioning a lot of us play more than just SFIV competitively. I find that not playing a game for a long time does more harm than playing another game along with SFIV.
For instance, for the last year+ (along with SFIV) I’ve been playing a lot of TvC and relearning the balances made to the U.S version. I haven’t played much CVS2 (my main game) so obviously I’m rusty as fuck at it.
HDR is to quick for me. Matches feel like they are over in 5 seconds. I also like the variation of combos in sf4 soon to be ssf4. Canceling off one move just seems really boring to me. Ofcourse the only timed I played HDR I was sim and he has no combos anyway.
yeah hdr is over quick. Like Hooman said, it’s more about fundamentals. Spacing/zoning etc. I think it plays closer to SF4 than any other SF.
It’s true the game isn’t as combo heavy as 4 but they do exist and are just as impressive imo. with Balrog. ST/HDR Balrog absolutely shits all over SF4 Balrog.
Also have fun tonight everyone. I have work tomorrow at 5:30am, so I am going to pass on tonight’s get together at Starbase. I need to get a little smarter on my hours of sleep nowadays.
