The ST match vids + discussion thread

Just getting a Chun’ player to choke with Blanka though is great. Komoda’s super attempt in the first round against Tokido was mad dumb though.

wow, komoda is awesome :open_mouth:

A big session at my house on 5-4-08 so we can warmup for a tournament on 5-10-08:

First 16 matches on Youtube Playlist

komoda blanka makes me want to learn Blanka

That last round against tokido… damn

This is awesome Shag. Finally, videos of me! I feel like I’ve achieved something.

Do you have any more from that? I remember some wacky match with Dave Doyle that I like jumped over him and throw him behind like 5 times in a row when I was about to lose. Nuts.

Komoda’s Blanka is amazing. The effectiveness with which he plays disadvantageous matchups is mind-shattering.

Even if you don’t pick up Blanka seriously, do toy around with him, man. The character is just way too much fun to play!

It was silly of me to not realize you were all of course already talking about those vids in here.

Can someone tell me who the players are ?

Might wanna read the video description there, buddy.

That first match features a pretty fundamentally poor boxer… he has no idea how to handle the safe jump>kneebash and doesn’t attempt kickrush>super or j. neutral fierce to get over the fireballs either…

Yeah, he was pretty crap.

Even the Japanese can suck.

Good matches, who was that first ryu player? I’ve never seen so many hurricanes used in a single round except for when daigo uses him but he does right before landing so it barely comes out, and I really liked how he stuck out cr jabs after crossing up so nuki couldn’t walkup throw him. I’m sure he knows much betetr then I ever will but just wondering why did he always go for overhead after super? He didn’t seem close to land it before the blockstun of super bomb ended so wouldn’t he be better off sticking out cr mk?

That last match played out almost exactly like when I play against blanka in hf, stupid jumping attacks stuff TU cleanly unless I do it early:bluu: but it’s good to see an n.sagat player besides yaya finally.

Futachan’s a fairly new Ryu player, but he seems to be doing very well. He got second place in last year’s Neo Star Cup using only Ryu.

72 entrants.

1st: Tsuji (Boxer x2, Fei-Long)
2nd: Futachan (Ryu x3)
3rd: Otochun (Chun-Li x2, Ryu)
4th: YuuVega (Dictator x2, DeeJay)

I enjoy watching lesser-known Japanese ST players, as they always seem to play so differently from the well-known players… guess they don’t watch videos

Hahaha, I was hoping I wouldn’t get flamed by mindless drones for critizing a no-name player who happens to be Japanese, there are players I know IRL who think there is no such thing as a scrubby Japanese ST player.

For the ST match vid crack addicts, myself included.

Whenever I try to watch those vids it just exits out by itself in the middle of the match.

That means the match ended, because one of the players quit out for whatever reason.

bow down.
