You seem to be attaching some sort of connotation to the word “normal” that I don’t actually have in mind. I literally mean it as a representation of what is most common or expected. Statistically speaking that average person, at least in the U.S., is heterosexual. In that sense homosexuality is abnormal.

If one wants to be picky, “normal” and “abnormal” contain the word “norm” aka rule, so they do imply a moral judgement.

We can argue the technicalities of language all day (in which sense I may be wrong according to OceanMachine), but I the most important thing hereis intent, if I may move the goalposts a bit.
In my use of the word abnormal I did not intend it to be negative, but mostly as a synonym of “average”. It’s pretty dumb to get upset at someone who does not intend an ill will with his language unless he is using a word widely known to have a negative connotation.
