I just think the EX-PC projectile property is bad implemented. Feels random at times.

That’s it, I like the character how he is atm :wink:
Everything else would make him one of the best characters in the game.
Think about it…how often do you land your ultra?
Me, maybe in 20-30% of all rounds. I still win, though.
Giving him just one better setup to hit it would make that 50% or more. It would be crazy.

what over head from cvs2 is every one talking about…if ur talking about that paint the fence move…i hate to tell u guys but that wasn’t an over head it did negate projectiles but it sure as hell wasn’t an over head

Taking shortcuts out of the game would remove some things Bison can do, such as teleport to head stomp, teleport to empty devils reverse, and teleport to ultra to name a few.

Guys, although the Bison forum is full of people complaining about nothing, some of the complaints are real. THIS thread ought to be taken seriously, because Ono stated that Capcom is listening to the community, and really, that probably means that they are visiting SRK, and this forum was probably created so that they wouldn’t have to visit the character forums.

I suggest people stop just saying “omg need an anti air now!” and instead explain why they are making whatever suggestion that are making. I’d like to see some more serious suggestions like Tonylews’. This thread is full of garbage right now, but there *are *things that can be done to make Bison compete better in his worst match ups (and Bison does have bad matchups, he’s not 5-5 with everyone as some people claim) while still keeping him balanced against the rest of the current cast.

My general suggestion is this (I’ll try to think of more later): Bison needs more options for rush down mix up. Once people know what Bison can do, he is easy to stop and shut down. He also does crap damage since most of his damage is from low damage combos, pokes, or lk SK. So he is relatively high risk and low reward now. Bison has two options when people wake up - throw or attack low/mid. (Bison’s jump is too floaty to attack from the air to not have any decent opponent notice that Bison is jumping.) He doesn’t have an overhead, so a crouch tech beats almost everything Bison can do.

I suggest an overhead move with the following properties - fairly quick start up and remains active for at least 5 frames (not counting execution/recovery), so that it is easy to stuff wake up moves with. However, it should be negative on block, but not punishable (-2 frames, maybe) so that the exchange for using it is that Bison’s rush down has been interrupted and so Bison has to block/escape. A move like this would help Bison keep opponents guessing and give him the additional rushdown and mind game potential he needs for more damage. I’m open to suggestions. I just see this as one of his weakness as people adapted to fighting Bison.

Alternatively, lk SK could do more damage, but that might be a bit too much (or maybe too little).

That’s my two cents. Overall, I think Bison does need some buffs/modifications, but the amount of buffing he needs will depend on how the top tiers are nerfed, and how the lower tiers are buffed as well. Overtime, Bison slipped into middle of the pack as far as tiers because his options were shut down as people adapted, but he is nevertheless pretty solid against a good portion of the cast.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong about HS/DR tracking itself. It’s just that the leap is so slow, anybody can react to it. If it was sped up a bit it would be a lot better to use on people. Just not to the point where he zips across the screen in 0.3 seconds, now that’s just going to promote corner turtling and sniping headstomps on the victims.

not if it’s from less than full screen… plus a head stomp should not be anti air… :sad:

from full screen you have a long to react to it and stuff it with jump back anything

if head stomp is anti-airing you, your jumps are very, very predictable.

i’m don’t really play bison very much (which is funny because he’s got the only hard trials that i have finished) but i have a question for you bison mains:

would he benefit from having that projectile that he used to have in the alpha series? or was it useless anyways?

I personally don’t think he needs it. He’d just lose the fireball wars like Guile if they were charged. If he was given psycho shot, they should not be on par with shoto fireballs.

Bison is best when he’s mid-screen IMO.

it’d be useful if lp version is slow, then it’ll be used the same way as chun’s kikoken. But imo it doesn’t fit bison’s style, I always felt funny seeing alpha bison having a projectile. So I say leave it for the fat bison, I want my bison to stay lean and mean.

On design principle, I say no to bringing back Psycho Banish. I never liked that move, and it was never used outside of CC. All of the changes I listed would automatically make Bison better and more fun to play (because he would actually be able to mount an offense), and not overbalance him (he would still have the same weaknesses - Bison’s not supposed to have good anti-air, he’s supposed to make up for it by keeping you constantly pinned down).

Also, no to his projectile. Just make his Psycho Crusher SF2 like (HF preferably, but I’d take ST - not many people know that HF Psycho Crusher > ST Psycho Crusher) and his headstomp have better tracking/speed and he won’t have to worry about projectiles. Hell, it’s not projectiles right now that give him fits, it’s people jumping backwards all day.

Don’t really care how they buff him, so long as they don’t give him an overhead command normal.

Edit: Bison is fine as is… but! he’ll be more fun if he had ST headstomp mixups and devils reverse mixups after throws like ST.

I’d rather they give him his ST s.rh instead of this anti air one so I can trade with fireballs better

I’m pretty sure Uryo’s partner, Umezono, played Dictator. Though IIRC they lost their first match. :frowning:

Also, give me CAPES!!! I want capes. Everything else would just be icing on the cake. Although some of the stuff I would like to see changed/added were already mentioned (ie: Another/better way to combo into ultra. Maybe a reverse DP Psycho Banish that bounced and linked to ultra? LOL.)

He CAN do cross up pyscho crusher in this game!

Add Psycho Banish and a side switching Skulldiver and leave everything else alone.

How do you do your PC cross-up?

I do mine after a focus and a late hit, which pops them up. I forget which PC it was, but essentially if you are holding back, you’ll actually walk into the PC when I cross over.

Standing opponents get crossed.

I do it off scissors knock down. EX has the easiest timing. Even easier if they quick stand.
