Can’t tell what’s on is back but the chest has a shadaloo skull emblem that’s from his hat and it’s stretched across his chest Dark Knight style.

On his back is like some type of booster.

Right, played it again last night. Got some more info for ya:

PC crosses up big time. The hit box has been extended so a meaty PC will cross up as long as it hits them basically anywhere above Bison’s knee. I was doing throw > Slide > Meaty PC a whole bunch and it’s a great tactic to keep them guessing. The hitbox seems to stop about where his shin guards start so too late and it’ll whiff.

PC seems to startup a bit quicker and recover a bit quicker too, but not as much as you’d like. They’ve maybe taken a frame or two off the recover and a frame off the startup. Ex PC is beastly though, goes through fireballs at any range you can think of, everytime. The recovery’s just as good too so even if you’re a little late on fireball punish and it’s blocked there’s still the option to tick or go into Cr Lk x 3 xx scissors or whatever you use as BnB.

LP PC is safe from midscreen, Ryu can’t mash DP and hit you if only the last hit is blocked.

There’s absolutely no noticable difference to headstomp and DR whatsoever. Empty DR’s can be punished if the opponent has quick enough reactions but empty DR > Throw still works a treat but the timing’s the same.

I posted before about thinking St HK had a smaller range but I was talking out of my arse, it’s the same move as vanilla with the same properties but with a slight damage nerf, still a great tool. In fact, I could see no changes to his normals at all except changes to damage and stun.

PP can punish full screen projectiles (SB excepting) and you don’t need to be psychic, just buffer the qcf x 2 and as soon as you see their start up hit KKK and BAM!! No more babies.

Opponents must be completely grounded for it to hit though so whoever posted throw > ambiguous PP is gonna be disappointed, I tried for ages with this and it whiffs everytime.

Slide did seem a bit safer too really only very slightly. Bad spacing is still gonna land you in deep shit but the block stun on it might have a frame or two added to it.

Teleport is identical, i.e. not to be used offensively unless you’re playing a blind man or you’re psychic enough to predict fireballs.

All the links I tried were the same. St fierce > Cr Lp xx Scissors still works ok. I thought we’d lost Cr Mp > St Hk but it’s just a tough link, it does work but you’ve gotta be bang on to hit it.

Overall, I don’t think we’re gonna have to relearn our game very much at all. Bison is very much the same animal he was in vanilla but with a few tweaks here and there to the mix up and cross up game. The major change is obviously PP which is shaping up to be a great tool for putting the fear in people and preventing them chucking out random specials.

Yessss… YESSHHH… YESHHH!! YESHHHHHHH

TheBirdLives Thanks…yo

Happy to help out my fellow Bison minions

Do you mean st.fierce > cr.lk xx scissors? I don’t remember cr.lp linking with st.fierce.

Seriously thanx bro…

Did you notice C.lk being faster when whiffing like Rog jab fast…

Nice!

Sorry, yeah, early yet in the UK. My fingers aren’t used to typing yet :S

Cr Lk doesn’t seem to have changed at all on whiff or block I’m afraid martyr, Rog’s still gonna stuff it my mashing Cr Jab. Boooooo.

Here’s another thing I noticed though it’s not Bison specific:

Throw timings are all over the show for Super. I sometimes dash in on opponent wakeup and throw and you have to wait a significantly longer period to hit Lp+Lk or the throw will whiff, leaving you open to all kinds of pain. It seems to be the case on ticks as well. I obviously couldn’t tell the frame timings by eye but if you ask me to guess I’d say you’re looking at an additional 10 frames before you can throw on wakeup and 5 on ticks from blocked cross up J Mk. It’s wierd.

Guess thats what Ono ment by throws where two strong in SFIV, he wasn’t specially talking bout the grapplers command grabs but throws.

You get a chance to check out nightmare booster?

I didn’t even select NB once I’m afraid mate. Too stoked trying out the properties of PP.

To be honest, the only character I can see me retaining NB against is fatty to punish blocked Jesus kicks. PP combo’s from hell attack and can punish most ramdom specials so I’ll be amazed if anyone selects it against anyone other than Rufus.

Good Point, in any case good job.

you basically gave us the big picture on SSFIV Bison.

Now all thats left is the wait.>_<

Um… so you mean the opponent has 10 frames to do whatever they want when they get up don’t have to worry about teching during that time? That sounds very dumb if true… The game is going to be even more defensive then.

BTW does option select throw still work? I was hoping theyd break it somehow.

Holy fucking shit, that alternate colour is beautiful.

Still holding out on something pink/purple though XD. Or even Orange…orange…orange…orange…
Also, I’m probably one of the few who noticed, but even in his normal costume, when you do a quick stand it sounds a little robotic XD keeping theory his legs are robotic, neeerr!

Also…thanking you TheBirdLives

EDIT:

What I meant is there’s just a delay in when you can throw them really. If you try and throw them at the same point in their wakeup animation as in SFIV then you’ll end up grabbing a bunch of air above their heads. You have to wait a fraction compared to SFIV. I’m probably not explaining it very well really but I did it a few times, it ended up whiffing and I ate combos. I’m not sure it’s a difference in wakeup frames, possibly just the amount of time they’re downed for. I wish I could explain it better.

OS tech’s still in for sure, I use it all the time.

well yes the throws will be just like every other SF before SF4 so im not worried

The review copy had all colours and alts unlocked and there is a pink robo Bison.

Am I the only one who thinks the new alt sucks donkey balls? I hate it.

YEEESS is it like…dark pink like his first alternate?

I think Robo Bison is an acquired taste.

A-la “If you like the backstreet boys you’re going to LOOOVE this!” I Jest, I haven’t slept and it’s taking quite a toll
