It’s amazing that they still went through with using the original character’s name knowing the casting approach. The could have used all the same treatments for the story and just changed the character’s name. However, I am sure it would have spawned a different form of rage monster.

That said, I really don’t want to believe that the yellowface CGI thing is true, but I also am not at all surprised, especially given what happened with Cloud Atlas. I’m actually glad that they didn’t go through with that if it’s true, which it likely is. Either way, I still don’t blame Scarlet Johansson or any of the white actors participating in the movie as the main cast, unless, of course, it was their idea to do so.
Anyway, speaking of “white-washing”, I figure I might as well post the Doctor Strange trailer in here since I don’t think it’s been posted in here yet despite being posted in the new Lounge about four days ago already:

They feel the ancient one being Asian is playing into some stereotype, so they took a risk (lol!) making the character a white woman.
Jungle book was pretty awesome. The kid actor can be well, a kid actor sometimes but the voice acting was top notch. I wish scarjo was more in it but damn, the movie is a blast

omg it’s angry! i saw a movie called antiviral recently and actually thought of you. it’s one of the best movies ive seen in a while, it’s original, fresh, cinematography is dope. i liked it so much i cut a trailer for it. needless to say i highly recommend it.

Saw Bastille Day, Idris Elba beating the crap out of people and telling others to STFU doesn’t getting tiring, Elba also sings the end theme too 
Also saw Midnight Special, good sci-fi flick, liked its a personal story that mostly revolves around the family rather than the world changing implications. Ending was kinda depressing until the very end (don’t blink or you’ll miss it).
Both movies well worth watching, barely any fluff in either of them and great performances all round.
Has anyone else seen The Witch? I think it was released in February of this year. I thought the movie was really creepy.
