gonna watch some random movies I missed and/or never heard of. made a list. first up original point break. I only know about that “shooting the air” scene thats it. expecting all kinds of bad acting from keeanu reeves.

It’s great. A lot of fun, has the Star Wars Magic back. Rocks right the new leads are much better actors then the ones from the OT during that time. It’s a really good, fun, exciting movie. I even like the call backs and the subversion of a number of them to.

saw creed last night. loved it…alot of it hit home for me…wasnt expecting that. my only critique personally was on the technical aspects. im curious if they purposely had adonis doing super wide hooks on purpose or if thats just lazy choreo. if its on purpose it would make sense…but id feel like rocky woulda pointed it out. since he was doing it from the beginning of the movie…i woulda loved it if it was more a lazy thing for the finale and a mistake that maybe the champ woulda capitalized on from experience.

My mates who saw it said the casting was spot on but the script is horrendous, a lot of wtfs and whys.

A couple more Assassins Creed shots http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/markcassidycbm/news/?a=129354

I was thinking about that, but than there are some really shit movies that you are curious about (Steve Jobs which I watched last night and happened to be just awful) that you don’t really want to see in theaters. Gonna watch Ted 2 tonight though…

these are next level screeners tho. with 5.1 surround sound and everything :wtf:

The Niggerful Eight was really good lol. as good as all other tarantino’s hits.

so i watched southpaw. rock was right boxing wise is was on point. its hilarious to watch that after watching creed. everything boxing wise i complained about in creed…they focused on and specifically fixed in southpaw. its more or less the anti rocky movie in terms of boxing. it went from old school 80s-90s brawler to more modern day style.

hoyly shieet The Revenant was powerful

Hateful 8 was fucking dope.

Also +100 points to whoever was in charge of makeup or whatever for giving everyone partially dirty or fucked up teeth because dental hygiene was shitty back then.

Perfect teeth in period pieces are like the first thing I notice and are a small pet peeve of mine…

Good ass movie. All the actors were on point and the escalation was as insane and unpredictable as I’d hoped.

Felt kind of like a cross between Django and Reservoir Dogs in a lot of ways.

cross between many tarantino movies but still something new to the table

One thing I noticed is that along with being said a lot less(still quite a bit though), unlike in Django where they ended every sentence with it as if it were punctuation in the Hateful 8 it felt a lot more well placed and genuine.

yeah that was authentic racism lol

You’re full of shit.

That stretch came 30 minutes in unlike Django where It was nigger this and nigger that from the jump.

And you know damn well this one isn’t reaching Django’s 113 uses.

Probably a bit around half at most

Authentic is definitely the word here. Not too much and not too little given the context and character’s histories.

Watching Hateful 8, this movie is dragging so much. I can’t tell where I am in this movie, an hour in and it still feels like its just started.

N-bomb usage makes more sense in this movie than it did in any of Tarantino’s other movies.

Even more then the movie taking place on a deep south plantation full of slaves?

O.o

i need to hear how the n word makes more sense in a western than racist slave planation south. i expect high levels of bullshit.

Believe me when I say I know how ironic that sounds. It’s quite bizarre, I think it’s the style of writing, also in Django it was so frequent it just became comical like that This is Gangsta Rap song ‘Nigga Nigga Nigga’. When people use it in this movie it just comes off more genuine, also Sam Jackson’s character hates the word and everyone knows it.

Anyhoo, the movie needs about 40minutes trimmed off. When shit hits the fan at the wnd the movies’ tone changing completely, the violence is almost slapstick with B movie special effects in places. They even missed timed setting off the squibs!

(I find it amusing your opinion is basically a mid-way point between RockBogart’s and everyone else’s I’ve seen on here.

More importantly, has The Hateful Eight made back its money yet so that someone can it rub in the faces of those cops who were trying to protest it?)

I happened to watch Charlie Rose tonight/this morning despite not usually do that and I now somewhat want to see this Son of Saul movie that was talked about in the second half of the program. I’m not sure what it is with me and wanting to watch likely depressing World War II movies–I guess it’s the historian in me, but even then I don’t think that explains everything.

Speaking of which, I also want to go see The Revenant now that it will actually be out after this Friday, but unfortunately I’ll probably be broke after brunch on Sunday, especially given how expensive SF is, and I tend to try to avoid opening weekend for anything due to how people are jackasses about film-going in general, especially the ones who bring their kids to non-kids movies. Shame. I’d like to think it will do well though. (Even if Mr. DiCaprio will likely get screwed out of an award again–not that I care.)

Oh snap you live in San Fran? Shoulda told me bro, was there last August. Could had some drinks together or something
