The SRK Movie Fanatic Thread (REVIEWS, QUESTIONS, RANTS, STARS...ETC.) EVERYTHING!

I think calisto was the leader of the morlocks first and storm took over for a while (battle for leadership)

X2 was great. Period.

I hope this one is good, but we won’t know until it really comes out. At the very least, the character designs don’t bother me.

If all those character are involed this movie better be as long as lord of the rings… no less than 3 hours!!!

Of course it won’t be tho…

haha wtf

Whoa, I was at work all day so I didn’t pay attention to the thread or the teaser but:

  • OHSHIT, Bullet Tooth Tony’s playing Juggs? Faith restored!
  • Halle’s lookin pretty good
  • You see that scene where Cyclops throws his head up and screams? Goddamn he looks like he could bite a dude’s neck off! Be easy Cyke.
  • Multiple Man’s one of my favorite X-Men, glad to hear he’s in the movie
  • Lasers + falling garbage dumpters = Sentinels! Rocket Punch bitch!
  • Who the schoolkid controlling the paper airplanes?
  • That funeral has to be for Professor X, cause in that short scene, everybody’s standing up, lol
  • This movie has a lot of fucking action in it and a fuckload of new mutants. I’m guessing it’s gonna be light on dialogue/character development.

They shoulda put prof X in the MVC series.

Yeah, it seems that a lot of people are missing this time around. I didn’t see any toad or nightcrawler.

You are so goddamn fucking stupid that it actually causes me physical pain. I got a fucking ulcer reading your post.

Any given Spider-Man movie had more “touchy feely dialogue” than both of the X-Men movies combined. I mean, if you have to hate then hate, but comparing it to Spider-Man is just fucking daft.

Anyone who hated X2 (or even X-Men, which was the first well done comic book movie since Tim Burton’s first Batman) is a fucking dingus. Compared to bombs like Fantastic Four, I thank God everyday that they managed to pull off the X-Men movies not only successfully, but WELL.

And I also hate all of you guys who are complaining about trivial continuity and costume appearance gripes. Do you guys still not understand that comic books - the X-books especially - just cannot translate to film as is?

Give Juggs his Trashcan lid, and I will shut up, because everything else is fine.

X1 was a good movie (it felt a little drawn out at times), X2 was a great movie, if you think otherwise you are a nitpicky dork.

God, yer a homo. I dug the X-Men movies, but just 'cuz I enjoyed them doesn’t mean I think their flawless. Quit tha Bryan Singer nut-hugging. Btw, who says ‘dingus’? Nobody, that’s who. Eat a dick.

Yeah and they still managed to have more ass-kicking and explosions than both the X-Men movies, douchebag.

ahem

No offense.

How articulate! Admit it, tho. You like me.

They did put Professor X in MVC. He was Onslaught afterall, final boss status and everything :wgrin:

Since they merged all of the threads this is left over from the Aeon Flux thread, I guess. Finally saw the movie, I liked it, it’s not the best as far as an interpretation of the series but a lot of the things in the series are quite bizarre, not sure everything would work in a film. It was asked what where the differences between the cartoon and the film. Suffice to say everything below this point will be spoilers…

AEON FLUX SPOILERS!

In the cartoon and the movie it held true that Trevor Goodchild and Aeon Flux where lovers at least at one point in time. In the cartoon their relationship was kind of, messed up. Trevor would try to do something to either gain more power or satisfy his sick and twisted urges of the week, Aeon would come in and mess it up. At certain points the two had oppurtunities to kill each other but didn’t, yet sometimes trying to murder the other person was attempted. That’s the relationship in a nutshell. Wasn’t really like that in the movie. Aeon tryed to kill him, found out she couldn’t because of their shared past and the two wound up together again as lovers.

Both of the characters in the movie were… um, nicer. Animated Aeon Flux was, well, not really a good person, she just did whatever she wanted in the cartoon, most of the time she was a straight up bitch. Trevor Goodchild was portrayed as a good guy in the movie with his movie-only brother Orin Goodchild being the villain. Trevor in the cartoon was never good. Only on the occasions where he neglected to kill Aeon, and thats about it.

In the cartoon there where two seperate cities that where split at one point like The Berlin Wall. The people where Trevor Goodchild was from with the Breens was kind of like for the Haves, the side where the Monicans where from was for the Have Nots. It was difficult to cross the border and get to Trevor Goodchild’s side, you had to evade a series of traps and a failed attempt could mean your death or the loss of limbs. Animated Aeon would cross the boarder regularly because she had mad skills of course. The entire movie took place on the Breen side, there was no other city. On the other side of the wall was nature, forest, and I imagine the rest of the world. But in the movie there was a series of traps for you to get into Trevor Goodchild’s main building, kind of like the traps that seperated the two cities in the cartoon.

There was a revolutionary movement from the Monicans in the cartoon too, however for the most part Aeon Flux did whatever the hell she wanted to instead of taking orders like the flick.

In both, Aeon Flux was cloned, many times. In the movie cloning meant you died, they implanted your DNA into a woman who became pregnant and you were born again. In the cartoon she was pretty much just cloned, like making an exact copy of herself. Of course in some scenarios it might work out the movie way, with Trevor cloning himself(reverting to baby, growing up again) various times for an extended period like he did in the movie and the two meeting each other agian and again and again for hundreds of years but there was a specific episode in the cartoon where she cloned herself, the original died and the clone went on and the series continued. So clones in Aeon Flux land are really good copies.

The cartoon really had bizarre creatures, and/or Aliens with very weird gifts. Movie really didn’t have anything like that.

Um, and, in the last episode some kid with bizarre powers create a world for Aeon Flux where she was his Soccer Mom… so she sort of got a happy ending? In the movie she got to be with a good Trevor Goodchild, so she got a much happier ending…

There where a couple of times in the cartoon (the first silent one was a biggy) where it seemed Aeon had a foot fetish, or enjoyed having her… feet licked… or liking feet… closest the movie got to something like this was when Aeon’s friend who had her feet swapped for hands asked if Aeon wanted to do the same thing and she just said she liked her boots.

Most of the above is dealing with the cartoons that have dialog. The ones without dialog make no freaking sense whatsoever. Not that the ones with dialog made perfect sense either. Again, in the first Aeon Flux cartoon, the silent one, when Aeon died she awoke on some strange river raft with some guy licking her feet (course she just stepped on a nail and fell off of a building) and was… getting off from it, nothing about clones here, she died in all of the silent ones two but kept coming back(assuming the silent ones where even related to each other and not all stand alone entries…) I still like the silent ones better than the episodes with dialog and the movie, the silent ones had way more violence and sex than both. But all in all the three of them are good IMHO, Aeon Flux is a pretty good franchise I think all around.

I still have the Aeon Flux Herodotus File, guess I’ll give that book a read again since it reveals lots of stuff not stated in the cartoon, but in the very strange Aeon Flux style…

Then why do them? With all the fucking money studios have, I can’t see why not. I say that as someone involved in film, not otherwise.

it’s really hard to follow a discussion on a particular movie when they’re all in one thread. just a thought.

Man what happened to the thread, the indian song one. That was started to get interesting

Got a headache just looking through the last few pages in here. Got to admit it cleans up the multiple thread spam just a tad though.

I think it would make more sense if movies just got their own slice of the forums instead of shoving them all in the same GD phone booth, but if that was a workable solution I’m sure the Powers That Be would’ve already thought of it.

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big, dangerous man who wants to kill us. But as sure as my name is Lucky Day, the people of Santa Poco can conquer their own personal El Guapo, who also happens to be the actual El Guapo!

Someone’s been into the Three Amigos sauce, I see.

Well I finally sat down and watched The Warriors(yes I know I live under a rock, tyvm)and kicked myself accordingly for not watching it before. Question now is…there are multiple versions available, right? Which one to own?

I’mo do a big review of this thread tomorrow, when I get home (sorry I haven’t made time to read everything yet)

but the front page is updated daily…

Are you promoting a…Movies forum?
Looks like most of the talk here is about X3, can someone link me to a Direct DLable one for the teaser/trailer? If you can upload it for me, I’d be greatful.

Anyways, for those that have read the Narnia books, how did u find the movie? I keep hearing it wasn’t good

Have you guys seen the movie “Crash” yet. I think its fairly new and on DVD now. well just thought that the movie was good after seeing it in my english class. its a movie about race and class from different perspectives and i just thought it was cool at how everything just comes together at the end. don’t want to spoil much but i urge you to go see it. its definietly something different, at least to me.

How was Syriana? Anybody here watch it?
