I didn’t have a 6-button Genesis controller until like…a good month or so after I had CE for Genesis. My basic combo was jump in HP, c.HP to DP or fireball forever.

The Activator…ugh. You had to wave your hand or foot through the high or low sensors to hit the buttons, so special moves were pretty retarded. Wiggle your foot from in front of you to the left while sticking your hand out 45 degrees to the right to toss a fireball! Yeah!

Didn’t you have to press select to switch back between punches and kicks? I can see that as very early training for FADC.

I want to see someone play Zangief with an Activator. You’d have to do a hurricane kick IRL to do his SPD.

Even worse, without a 6 button controller, you couldn’t pause the game!

Oh yeah forgot SNES had the select button and Genesis didn’t.

Well I would say that the Genesis had a better pause sound than the SNES but pausing mid-game wasn’t exactly easy.
