Point taken. Then again, perhaps there -are- more characters and we don’t know about them yet?

I mean, I’m not sure just how well people hide stuff, or if anyone has done a data dump on the game… but… for some reason I would imagine that Jubei and the pink haired catgirl would be/might be playable in the near future.

Plus, I’d love to see EX characters. Give Bang a command teleport instead of a guardpoint teleport, etcetera.

I mean, how psyched was everyone when they got to try out their character’s ex form (Even if the style was… vastly changed… -eyes EX Slayer-)

Time, energy and money my friend, all of that is the reason why the roster is what it is. 20 characters would have taken too long and the game would probably be more broken. With this roster size, they managed to get the game out fairly quickly (it hit Japan what in December 2008?) and for the eventual sequel, they have had time to consider what new characters/drives to add and how to balance the existing cast.

But mainly, time, energy and money. This is an original game they created to “succeed” the Guilty Gear due to its publishing/legal issues and unlike KOF or SF4 where they just transported characters in with updates, most of the characters here are somewhat original.

Ha. For some reason I forgot that a sequel isn’t out of the question. I would like to see Tao be able to use little cat people as a projectile and way of doing set ups. She could be a female Faust.

The baby Fausts always crack me up.

I would argue that it’s not so much “less out of the question” as it is “inevitable”. I mean, is this still in the top 3 in Japanese arcades? Considering it’s competing with Tekken and Gundam (which I always just consider a free spot), I’d say it’s doing very well for itself. I’d be shocked if ASW didn’t follow it up.

Baby faust? Please

It’s all about the mini Potemkin. Walks up to you, blaps you, and does it two more fucking times.

This game is too mentally straining. I can’t play long sessions because my head turns to mush. Maybe I’m just getting old.

Anyone else get that?

i think it’s pretty simple actually.

you might be overthinking it

Yeah I can’t stay in training mode practicing the same stuff for more than an hour and a half or so,before it starts messing with my head and my execution actaully gets worse every time I try.

I wish I could practice for 8 hours a day like I hear some pros say they do, I don’t think I can physically do that before I start getting headaches

Yeah for some reason I can’t commit to this game like I did SF4

maybe its because I don’t get the feel or suck at it, but im taking a break.

Btw, battlefield 1943 is awesome.

I can’t stay in training mode for more than like 15 mins. I just lear in matches. I remember/learn better that way.

agreed, i dont have the mental patience to sit in training mode by myself and learn, i learn better from watching/playing people.

A game like BlazBlue is better when training with some good competition.

yeah, agreed. Playing for close to 24 hrs straight with some friends and online comp. It wasn’t the best, but a live human combo dummy is more interesting then a stationary one

Training mode kinda screws with me. I’ll practice a bunch of specific situational combos, then completely drop the ball when it comes to executing them online. Like most of you have said, practicing against a real person is where you learn the most and develop your game.

yeah I’ve definitely seen a number of guys online who’ll know one or two impressive combos but still lose because they just don’t know how to… play. it’ll be 45 seconds of floundering then 5 glorious seconds of amazing comboliciousness, then they lose. I suck myself but it’s kind of funny regardless.

This is the main reason I get mush-head. It’s not the combos that are tough, it’s the getting in and landing a hit that is tough. Too much thinking required.

Training mode is good for working on your combos and execution

lol, training mode is the shit.
i can lose time counting and 20 minutes practice suddelny becomes a hour and half practice, being a litchi player i have so many things to cover in hope to use at least some of them in real match.
but then in the next session i just focus 2 or 3 things from what i’ve practiced to actually make them happen. pace by pace all those little things will be part of my arsenal.
trying to practice on a real match (no 1on1) is quite the pain cause untill you get the opportunity to excute the awaited combo, you mucsle aren’t used to the motion and you screwed it.
training mode FTW

p.s
don’t expect that after one session of even 3 hour training on combo, it will be flawless in real matches, you need to let it sink though regular daily training (lets say 20 minutes a day or so…)

Man, the story of this game is just ridiculous. It screams anime bullshit. The art in the gallery is also full of way too much fanservice.

If it weren’t for the actual gameplay of this, I wouldn’t have even considered this game.

Darn game. Why did it have to be full of so much anime cliches and faggotry. It is so good without it.
