Really, unless the Nu makes HUGE mistakes, you arn’t going to get much of anywhere with tager.
Any Nu worth a damn is going to keep you right outside B seldge’s max range. This allows them to bait the sledge all day long. So when the sledge whiffs, they get to punish you for free and then leave you on the opposite side of the screen again. If by any chance you happen to get in, she can use her amazing backdash/air backdash to get out of range again.
If you try to jump in, you will get d projectile spammed, and then pushed back again.
Sparkbolt will ususally get stuffed in the starting animation by her D projectiles. Even if it trades, her D projectiles will ususally leave you in a crumple state, so you cant follow up the sparkbolt.
At mid to long range, all tager’s D attacks are worthless against a magnetized Nu. In most matchup’s, your drive attack is a HUGE help against keep away opponents when they are magnetized. It will get you nowhere against Nu. 5D and 2D will get stuffed by her D projectiles, and then you get combed.
Tager’s problem is that B sledge is his only real tool in the entire match up. That’s all he has, just one move. Anyone playing Nu will know this, and they can play around it.
Obviously, player skill makes a huge difference in any fighting game. But there is only so much you can do when Nu is seemingly designed to fuck tager up da butt.
Finally going to get it today after 2 weeks in texas… thank god!

I’ve had this happen before. No idea what causes it though.

O rly? That’s insane :looney:
Is it me, or all in my head; or does this game reward retardation and shitty skill?
I keep finding myself in these scenarios, where i’m clearly the more skilled person, but I lose, for the most inane, off the fucking wall reasons.
Honestly, I’m still grasping the full system of the game, but…it’s just…really fucking annoying. (you know how many bullshit losses I’ve taken to arakune?! blah)

I dunno what to tell you man. If you lost to someone you thought was more skilled than you then you might have to re-evaluate how you view yourself skill-wise. Match-up inexperience is also a BIG factor in this game as well (see Mike Z vs Goryus).
Match up experience is pretty much a big factor in any fighting game.
Not so much in 3D fighters. It’s there, but never to the extent of 2D fighters.
Pretty much, except for maybe Tekken.
Why is that? Why are 3D fighters (generally) more balanced than 2D fighters?
EDIT: A question for everybody. How many people are buying KOF XII?
I was really excited for it a while ago, but I saw it at devastation 09’ and it didn’t impress me.
I’m definitely getting KoF XII , been playing it in the arcade for a while and i’m really liking it , honestly i like it more than BB . then again I’ve always been a biased KoF fangirl sooo yeah … >_>;
oh and only TheAnswer ( " Mature " user ) in the devastation matches knew what he was doing , the rest were just random scrubs so i wouldnt judge the game based on that
I’m fairly certain I’m going to get it but just to be safe I’ll wait a day to hear how good the netcode is before running to buy it.
I don’t have any competition in my area so online is the only way for me to go.
I’ve never been a fan-girl of KOF, but it does look kind of interesting, might wait until there’s more competition till I jump in.
But, yes, If the net code isn’t as good as HDR or BB, then it’s a no go.
Yeah so apparently if you find yourself in a REALLY laggy match against a scrub, that knows they can’t win, be ready to tech throws…
It’s too easy to get away with throwing like that online. I’ll admit I’m still scrubby and he caught me off guard with the first two throws but look at all those throw reject misses… Although I certainly got him back afterwards
. This is why I rarely throw anymore. It’s way too scrubby online. Unless you play Carl.
I hope it’s obvious I wasn’t taking this match seriously with the ice car victory lap and the burst at the end.

Really?
You’d give up a free 3000+ damage combo because it’s “for the scrubs”? Pro strats here :looney:
Dude throws are cheap. If you throw someone, you’re supposed to take your hands off of the stick and let them hit you back.
Throwing doesn’t seem all that scrubby to me. Based on the lag in a match, you can get away with many things - throws included.
Throws have been very good in this game, and are in no shape or form “scrubby.” Taokaka can backwards throw into her Astral Heat, while Ragna and Jin use throws for combos too. Tager’s the grapple master, and it’s basically how you play with Carl to an extent.
You can call someone a scrub when their D button is broken from mashing it too much, but throws are a different story.
I’m talking about in LAGGY situations. There’s nothing wrong with throwing online or offline, but you mean to tell me that if your playing a match online, with a massive delay, you’d be cool throwing the other guy knowing they wouldn’t be able to tech it?
