I thought the same thing since she is the SF4 representative. We’ll see.

I’m wondering if they’re going to use the plotpoint of her eyepatch to make a toned down version of her. A regular Juri without the aid of FSE that will have many different types of special kick attacks like her omega mode variant, and then V-trigger will be “eyepatch off!” mode, where she can start chaining together fireballs for combos, do FSE cancels, etc.

I don’t know about you, but i would be super salty if they limit her fireballs or any other special move on that matter to her Vtrigger. Either make FSE work the same or add a totally new special when Vtrigger is activated.

I dislike making old special attacks into vskills ( Cammy’s spin knuckle is a good example,she would had been much better with something new,but she got the short end of the stick ) or limiting previous baseline specials on the vtrigger timer ( Karin’s rekkas i think )

Oh I’m with you 100%. But well… Capcom seems to hate zoning characters in SFV, and as much as I hate to see it, I can totally see them locking or at least limiting her fireball game in some way.

Edit: the other scenario I can see is a Guile situation where she keeps her fireballs, but gets her normals nerfed to oblivion.

Aren’t her normals already nerfed with V’s system, removal of proximity normals and less cancelable normals across the cast?

So far V-skills/triggers for most of the cast just seem really lazy, but I’d still be cool with her counter/teleport being her V-skill, just as long as they don’t do dumb shit like lock previous moves or properties behind her V-trigger. Also fireball charges and releases are a deal breaker for me, whats the point of having my main return if they completely change their moveset/playstyle? After the changes capcom made to Ibuki, the only thing keeping me from trading in SFV is the vain hope they don’t water-down/fuck up Juri too much.

i only care bout 4 things she needs to keep.
1)her overhead
2)cr.mk
3)fireball store+release
4)her divekick

as long as she has those 4 things i’m good.

though we may see height restrictions on her divekick. most likely.
again, its SFV, not 4…you gotta deal with the changes and adapt.

Her dive kick was not used as a offensive / pressure tools anyway , in most cases. It was used as a anti fireball move or to close distance or escape corner.Technically it’s a dive kick, but compared to Cammy’s it’s totally different.

Rashid kinda got her divekick anyway, so i’m kinda worried if she will get to keep hers. Only wish i have regarding her dive is the ability to do it from neutral jump ( if back jump dive is out of the question )

her ex dive in ultra was like her biggest buff.
it was so wonderfully safe on block. i almost never got punished for spamming it.
i wonder if she’ll keep her jump in/away mp.
i need that to stay to do jump mp into divekick. like…need it!

Going by the pattern of the SFV cast (esp. of what we’ve seen from the dlc chars so far). My prediction on how Juri will turn out:

-Fireball store will return, but her fireballs will probably have more recovery on them. They might try and make it so you can’t just wall out the opponent by storing and spamming fireballs.
-Far HK is practically made for CC fishing, and will be her standard HK. I just hope it will cause the reeling anim and not the pop back.
-Close HP will be a command normal and be a pop up CC.
-Far MK will probably have its distance reduced. At best it will be Karin’s s.MK length, which to be fair is pretty gdlk in this game.
-Her close MK will be a command normal, and her unthrowable frames for it will be increased to help out when she’s storing a l. fireball (well okay I just really wish that this will be the case, given how throw-centric this game is).
-All her divekicks can only be done from a forward jump. Seems like only Chun is allowed a neutral jump “divekick”.
-Her far MP will not be special cancellable. :sad:
-Her CA will be useful (both her omega mode and SFxT versions had an improved super).

Edit: Capcom can of course completely defy our expectations like what they did in reimagining Sim and Vega. It also looks like they are willing to go ham in giving chars a set of strong tools like Ibuki, so who knows. The capcom gods do seem to smile on waifu characters.

Dive kicks are hella toned in this game. You’ll be lucky if it’s as good as Cammy’s EX/V Trigger dive or Chun’s instant air legs. Don’t expect to love what you get, the developers purposely attacked jabs and dive kicks.

if fireballs had more recovery then they’d prob wouldnt be combo’able and fireballs inserted into her combos are the whole basis of her combos.

If Rashid is anything to go by, Juri will now do the full string after her dive kick automatically and be -40 on block unless spaced perfectly.

So how many of you Juri fans keep refreshing Eventhubs , in hopes that some Juri leaks are posted ? :stuck_out_tongue: xD

I think you want to say, Juri is -40 after the FIRST hit of her divekick unless perfectly spaced,where she can be -20 with some luck.

Don’t has to. Guiles got changed from +10 to +8 on hit and he has some loops.
I don’t think her fireballs will be that good this time, I have somewhat the feeling they will focus more on a Offence/Defence Footsies hybrid a la Rose this time.
This would actualy fit her and the game more than what we had in IV.

Still waiting for the endless rants when it’s revealed that Juri is wearing shoes in all of her costumes in SFV
