But let’s not start stroking our collective shlongs just yet. She won out of player skill and relatively tame competition.
Problems are still there and I hope the next season will deliver justice.
BTW one tech I really liked by Infil was spacing the fireball in neutral to jump in range than jumping with HK covering neutral jump, jump back or getting a free in on block.
The tournament he won was vs probably the 3 best players of Juri’s arguably worst matchup. Definitely a pretty legit win and a tournament he probably had no business winning if they had better experience vs Juri. Still a wins a win and he showed off how good Juri’s s.MK really is and that she definitely fits his style the best. A lot of the other characters are too aggressive for him.
Don’t think Season 3 is going to save any Juri players unless everyone else gets nerfed into the ground. They’ve meticulously balanced Juri way too hard to likely give her anything that will greatly help her. People are just going to have to optimize their gameplay and hope everyone else gets nerfed into the ground.
I’d say that they are definitively the 3 best Rashid player at the moment and that is definitively the worst Juri Match-up, but none of them has the pedigree of Infil, nor a Daigo, Momochi, Tokido etc.
Played basically the same people at OHN15 and got 4th as I said.
That said I think I’m done complaining about Juri, the more I play the more I feel like the dominos are falling into place and it’s workable, with some headaches. I still think she’s among the worst 5 characters in the game, but I see the distance between the lowest tier chars and the mid tier chars as very thin right now, she’s got less good than most but not that much less. I think any little buff would go a long way to put her in a solid mid tier spot where it would be easier to pick up for more players, I mean it took me months upon months to get a clear idea of what I should do with her, and even if I cannot execute it perfectly I can see what I should have done or think about possible things I could have done.
So I’m done advocating for buffs constantly.
I’ve embraced the jacket on nostalgia costume because I cannot fucking remember to take it off half of the times.
All I want now is a cooler looking Critical art.
Here’s the thing,Juri works and you can win every matchup but you have to work for it,you had to in SF4 as well.
It’s not the end of the world but let’s not kid ourselves here if you play her you are in for a tougher time.
She will get buffs but they won’t be something major.She is the type of character that won’t see huge spikes in power but she will improve slowly overtime.
I have developed quite a character loyalty to her and will continue to main her regardless of changes.
Fuck me… I’m impressed of how much more I understand this character lately, is like something has clicked, I still lose and I’m still not optimal in a lot of stuff, but I can see all the mistakes I make right as they happen, as result I haven’t gotten mad at a loss in a week.
BTW what happened to us guys? this was one of the few character forums that had daily posting and now we are going days without news? Where’s your commitment to the cause?

That’s the best part of playing an honest character lol. With Ibuki you learn to win, but with Juri you learn the game.
When you lose with Ibuki its because they guessed right; she bypasses neutral and goes straight into brainless 50/50s without conditioning.
With Juri your 50/50s come from conditioning and the mental game. Learning spacing and whiff punishing is crucial, as well as making the best out of every knockdown, applying pressure and corner carry.
Mika or Ibuki will carry you deep into platinum without having to stop and learn tons of match ups or crazy amounts of tech.
I just play the game and don’t really post as often anymore.
Accepted her for how strong she is and trying to do the best with it. Will see how S3 evolves the game and will decide how long it will keep my interest. I also bought Killer Instict and i am trying to learn Rash ,the toad is a lot of fun and it takes me back to Battletoads,wich is one of my favorite games ever.

I don’t want buffs, I want every character to be as honest as her, I’m sick of some of the bullshit in this game.
Let’s face it, the only way to make her high tier would be to give her the same dumb things that the top tiers have and I like my Juri the way she is
That’s never going to happen.They are not going to change the majority of the cast just because Juri does not fit in the meta.
You either accept her for how she is,accept the fact that despite all the qol changes she will get she will still be mid at best.
I’m fine with a mid tier at best because I never really played top tier in any game.
But if you want Juri to be truly a SFV character she needs tobe able to throw just as much crap to the opponent as she receives in every match.
