I’m sorry you feel this way and I’m sorry you think I’m trying to talk mess about you. Asking me “who am I” and telling me to “Shut the fuck up” are the reasons why I wouldn’t exactly let you represent our community. That kind of hotheadedness and anger is not needed to be shown to people who are curious about our scene…
What’s up people. I posted here a few months ago when I first moved out to the Houston area, but have been way too busy or broke to get out and participate at the “local” spots so I’m gonna go ahead and re-introduce myself.
I’ve been around SRK for a while but never really interacted with the community because of the… arrogance/elitism/jackassity (I like that) of most of the people I had interacted with. Judging by some of the previous posts, I think it’s safe to say that others are aware of the amount of salt slinging that goes on around here (SRK in general). I’m just looking to meet up with (cool) people locally and online in this fighting renaissance that’s we find ourselves in. I have SSFIV, MvC3, MK9, and a lot of old fighters that I don’t really play that often (Super Turbo, Arcana Heart, 3rd Strike, etc.). I don’t really play MvC3 or MK9 that often though. MvC3 online is basically unplayable, and I’m still learning MK9. I’m also a pad player. I have a stick but I’m still trying to get used to it. It would be great to have someone to practice with.
I managed to make it out to PZ one night (because it’s the closest place to me), and it’s pretty cool, but I just don’t have the money to burn gas to get there right now. There’s also the not being able to play with a stick problem (heh). Anyway, I know this is getting into tl;dr territory, so anyone who’s willing to hook up with me online for some matches (in any game) shoot me a message.
Pretty much everyone that has online plays each other locally as I understand. Right now everyone is pretty big into MVC3, so learning to play it wouldn’t be a bad decision. How ever, there are a good amount of people sticking to SSFIV, and with AE DLC coming out next week I’m sure that the next few casuals will be filled enough.
With gas going down I hope you’ll be able to make it out to casuals on tues and wedn more often, they’re all on console so you don’t have to worry too much about that stick problem. And Smiley’s isn’t too far from PZ, so if you’re not that far from it you should be able to make it out to both.
hypocritical…im not going to finish my sentence…this is btwn me & u, not this “community” like they give a damn…then what are you implying, saying what u said esp. in a public forum?..u made this personal & esp. for all to see…I dont do that kind of shit–its not cool, I will go up to you and talk to u about it to make a mends or tell u my problem or whats up, i dont hold grudges or anything like that, i always have good intentions… It is not what you said but it is the principle of it–moving on, u didn’t specify any thing about calling me out for this or that…as far as the scene here I never said it is terrible or bad place —it is just not that unified not that great but hopefully get better-- im not the only one that sees it that way

You’ve kinda made yourself a presence in this thread the past few days, and i don’t CARE about that. It’s your wording. You may not realize it and I know you don’t have bad intentions. But the way you talk about the community really makes it seem like this place is a bad place. Yea, when MvC first came out I was heavy into it. I haven’t played it in a couple of months though. Lost interest in it when I found out how terrible the online is. At least SSFIV is playable with proper lobby control. I was running Iron Man, Spencer, Dante, Dormamuu, and Phoenix. I kinda miss it. I’m way behind the curve now though. I’m ready for the AE DLC to hit. Been waiting to play the twins. It’s looking like I’m going to be mostly broke until about August unless I can find a job soon. I’ve been looking since I got here. :lame:

Pretty sure the point trying to get made by Aj is that you don’t make us sound like a good place to go play. Someone before asked about when we all meet up, and you tell him that we are not the most unified scene, which has nothing to do with what he asked. And when kensou asked if anyone wanted to play mk9, 2 people posted about something else, and you went and talked about how nobody is responding and how we aren’t Cali (Geographically speaking you have been right every time you said we aren’t Cali).

Hey guys it’s been a while since I been on here. Just gonna cut to the chase. I’m in the market for opening a Computer repair shop that has enough room to setup a) a few old school arcades (mvc2, cvs2, and whatever else I can get) and b) a few TVs (4-8 to start) with a few ps3 and 360 consoles with arcade stick setups. I’m looking between pearland and hobby area. The concept will be a daily fee of no more than $10 and looking like closer to $5 a day with everything on free play. I will have xbox live and PSN accounts setup to game online when slow using comcast business class. I’m looking for some input if you guys would come out and play and what area would be best. Kinda like the old stargate was before it died but geared for fighters only.
Funny thing is that even though I live in the deep SW side that heading over to the Pearland/Hobby area will still take me as long to get to the Monsters area because of how the roads work. I might consider stopping by if I know people will be around in that side, still gotta get some games in with Gene, Big Chris, Joey, and Ronal one of these days.
We kind of already have that with Monster’s Arcade, and while I would like to have more then one area to go and hang out at, I’m very worried about the possibility that one place might put the other out of business. We as a community have been working with Monster’s for awhile now and I would hate to put a strain on their business because of something like this.
Maybe talk to them? See if something can be worked out or something?
