No really all kidding aside… Phnx and MvC3 is a scrub fun game by definition, not saying it like I’m mad & don’t discredit me like I’m wrong “u knw I’m right”-- of what I see and how the game makes me feel for getting hit w/a cr.short…oh yeah an overhead to defeat or a flying auto piloting dive kick that “peace be stilled” whatever I was doing or the game play mechanic called X factor that everyone loves BUT i will say this --X factor is NEEDED in this game to somewhat balance out the bullsh*t that happened in the match while u were fighting to give u some chance for a comeback. when in reality without X factor, uh yeah u already lost 15 seconds ago within the match or at least u can decide matches early on…
what a game and hearing ppl complain on how they thought they were blocking but “something” happened, something mysterious–“did i lose my frames or what is my frames on that move or is that move plus 3.256 on block”–" y did I get hit"-- “i thought i had frame advantage” too funny—anyways i’m cutting this short – u MvC3 players really I dont down u for playing, keep playing and be the best u can be with your team & win in the mean time I’m training up & playing SF intill AE comes out-------in closing---- I’m still on the fence about mvc3 if i should play it seriously-- i do like my team, MK9 i think u can count me out SF trumps this game even in its design --oh except u cant decapitate ryu for his dp’s or slice/pull blanka 's limbs apart saying in disgust “f ur blanka balls” after a win- another example can u imagined Blanka having Akumas cr. uppercut and same jab animation as well as everyone else in the cast like MK9-- no true variation in character design–every character in mk9 seems to have the same walk speed & dash speed & wake up speed & everyone BLOCKS in the SAME FRICKING ANIMATION–maybe I’m being to strict but am i the only one that notices these type of things, BBlue no interest and will never top Guilty Gear, Arcana deviate Hearts 3 really I’m for fighting games but this?, Tekken 6 I’m not a man to play that game but i like Lars, KoF the newest installment has so much potential but no one plays it including me, ST surprisingly is fun but in a learning way to get a solid foundation in SF to get better–for instance try one frame dp’s, SF3 upgrade hmm will see when the SF3 online game comes out
Niggas fighting over phoenix is stupid. Just cause you play phoenix on your team does not guarantee you a win. There are plenty of ways to take care of her you can do snap back and kill her or anything else. The only option dorm has that stops phoenix is the double ball to chaotic flame on entry. Anything else he can not fight phoenix. If you get caught doing a ball super after i touch the ground i can jump away then teleport to hit you. As far as storm being a counter hail storming doesnt stop anyone or chip anyone unless they dont know any better. You can jump away from her and fly in the top corner to get away. Anyhow as far as niggas talking shit when they win with phoenix why shouldnt they. No one told you to pick x char cause you like them. So dont get mad cause you lost to something it takes alot of skill to win with phoenix even after she goes dark. If you feel like it doesnt then the question I have to ask you why havent you played phoenix.
I have been playing fighting games for years and I have dealt with some ridiculous characters. Phoenix is hands down the stupidest thing I have ever seen in a fighting game. It closes the skill gap, as much as everyone bitches up and down about MvC3 the game is fine EXCEPT for phoenix. She is a boss character, she should have been banned or should be banned There is nothing like her in ANY other fighting game. I think you can figure out some way to beat her, but she can always win.
You have a character that clearly limits your team by:
Restricting your use of meter
Only allowing you 1 assist
You are always getting snapped in
She dies in one hit
But for some reason the pay off for getting 5 meters is still worth it. The reason most of the top players aren’t playing her is because they agreed that it turns the game into shit. I don’t even think she will be that much of a problem because she will probably be banned or patched after evo. I was playing a.e. in Austin last week and had a chance to play against Hsiens Yun. That character is retarded, but he isn’t any where near the level of Phoenix. It’s like with Phoenix they followed the comics to the tee. You need like the whole team and more to kill that bitch.
Oh well, I’m still practicing my ways to kill her. Let’s see how that works out for me!

Thats how it always is once you start winning/getting paper, the hate starts to roll out and people start talking mad shit getting all upset cause you beating them when there using the cheapest characters in the game. The best part about this is that you dont have no friends when you playing marvel, boys can smile and laugh with you but once you tap they ass, they start to hold silent grudges which is funny cause its a GAME and not REAL LIFE! I can say boys will be fucked like a las vegas slut once gene gray gets patched. Quit believing in miracles there is no patch coming for phoenix it was already said early on after the sent patch by seth that phoenix is performing in the manner in which they intended and there will be no patch for her. So either learn to deal with it or dont play the game. Also if boys have a prob with someone saying something about them then say it in person dont wait till next day or they in another city to say it.
Look, everyone knows phoenix is scrubby and she doesn’t take much skill to play. The only reason I pick her is because I think she’s the best character on the game, maybe not the all around best but she is the most broken. I’m just surprised by the amount of complaints there are about phoenix, usually people just learn how to fight top tier or just pick the same character, that’s what I did. I got scrubbed out by phoenix so many times I was like “Fuck that shit” fight fire with fire.
The thing people don’t like about phoenix is when they feel like a bad player has a 50/50 (maybe more, lol) chance of beating a way better player just because of character selection. I agree, there has never been a character quite like phoenix which compensates like 110% for a players’ lack of skill, but this is 2011 you just have to go with the flow.
The way I see it, for now phoenix is very hard to beat but eventually good players will be able to handle her, she will still be a good character but scrubs won’t be able to beat good players once that shit gets figured out, but she is still a good character so that doesn’t mean good players wont still use her and win. But for now mvc3 is like this regarding phoenix, two players at the same skill level with one player using phoenix, the phoenix player will probably always win. Two players with the lesser player using phoenix, the odds are in favor of the lesser player. But no one can seriously say that phoenix takes a lot of skill to play, even though I say that a lot I’m usually joking just mess with some one or to piss them off. I still use other characters but I mainly use phoenix to scrub people out who I feel wouldn’t be able to fight her so I don’t have to try or think too hard, obviously that didn’t work this past weekend so I don’t know if I’ll play her again in tournament, I’ll try one more time but that’s it.
Nobody had a problem with me saying that shit was scrubby in front of them at Comicpalooza so kill that shit. If anyone did, then they acted like they didn’t. They know better cause there is no argument against the truth. That being said…those days of running to her to get a victory are numbered.
Wasnt talking about you have no problem with the character hate it will always be there. It has been in every fighting game for the last 10 yrs. From blanka and cammy in cvs2 to cable sent mag storm in mvc2. Every game has chars that ppl bitch about no one wants to play a balanced game. Regarding patch doubt it will happen it was said by capcom that she performed the way she was meant to. I was mostly talkin about the felinoter’s msg regarding fonzo. Also no matter if they fix phoenix or not if a char is discovered to be broken most players will gravitate toward it. Only fools believe in character loyalty.
Whats that good phoenix combo you do? The one with all the fierces that does lots of damage and looks pretty :rolleyes:. combos on the phoenix forums are derp.
