Perhaps Mr. Hat is hiding something about the identity of Cartman’s father to protect him of their family’s past?

I’m not so sure people are bent out of shape about it as they are afraid of the possible repercussions. They tried doing this with the family guy spoof on south park a while ago and comedy central still refused to show it. I mean it’s one thing to take a chance on financial investments, but basically, if comedy central guesses wrong, people could die. It’s kind of hard to argue in favor of creativity when other people’s lives are on the line.
Though to be fair, they did reference the super friends episode in last nights episode and nothing happened when they aired it back then.
Still, odds are comedy central won’t do it.

that episode was fucking TOPS. it wasn’t overproduced and all the cameos and old gags had the same charm as they did seasons ago. very well done.
I liked how they actually dealt with these issues. They even said things like “Muslims dont care if Jesus is made fun of” or had Buddah doing blow (which lol’d me) and they have no problem throwing every jewish stereotype and racial slur at the viewer, but you can’t even mention Mohammed or muslims get angry (which I feel is a violation of free speech).
Muslims need to realize that even if a few people say something about their prophet, it doesn’t mean the entire population believes it or stands by it, and more importantly if they react to it in a stupid manner, it does nothing but make the rest of the world look down upon ALL muslims with disdain (which is also unfair). I feel that in the next few DECADES, this is a problem that will arise many more times, and they seriously just need to grow the fuck up and realize that questioning religion and religious leaders is a part of life these days, and is a right that every human being has.

And Muslims know what’s what. American Muslims watch TV like anyone else so they know how things go here. The Al Qaedas and such are willing to kill thousands of America, and drag hundreds of millions of civilians into a war because they don’t like how America set up a military base close to Mecca 20 years ago. A base which was important in making sure that the Soviets didn’t take it over. The real people to blame here are the UN and Europe in general for not just flipping all the people outraged over that Danish (or Dutch?) cartoon that erupted into controversy. If shit goes down because of this episode of South Park, you can bet your ass that the American people would rally around Matt and Trey, and around their first amendment rights. Europeans failed at standing up for freedom, and that’s the reason that this is even still an issue.

Hell there was one part where Stan said “But we promised Jesus!” where Randy replied “Jesus doesn’t matter when Muhammad is involved!” But the thing is that making fun of Muhammad is a “sensitive issue” because you do have those angry fucks that go ape shit if anything short of nice was talked about their prophet. its a horrible thing to say, but people need to stand up for their rights in this matter, as I truly believe the muslims are fighting a losing battle here (it’s the 21st century, not 400 BC).
Sure, violence WILL happen. But you have to fight back against that too. Nobody said it would be an easy battle. Look at other times in history where vital things were dealt with (the IRA in ireland, slavery during the civil war and civil rights afterwards, womens rights, etc etc etc).

Actually, it’s not a violation of the 1st Amendment. Legal point of the day: only a state actor (i.e., the government or someone acting with government authority) can violate your constitutional rights. Comedy Central is not a state actor, and thus can censor whatever they want.
