The best of the best of the best of Sonic fan game makers got together to forge this game.
The people who looked at the original Genesis titles, dissected them, found out how the stage layout and how mechanics work, the game concepts work and on their own did near perfect duplications of the sonic formula.
Their new Sonic engine actually ran better than the original, full 60 FPS, adaptive to different screen aspect ratios,
These guys got picked up by Sega were they figured out how to port the Genesis games to different platforms that the current sonic team could not figure out.
I save everyone time here. (Edit: by the way I typed this before watching your video).
Taxman (Christian Whitehead) is the programmer who once made Sonic fan games, who contacted Sega to port Sonic CD to the iPhone.
Instead of just putting a rom on the iPhone and calling it done, he completely rebuilt the games code from scratch.
His port of Sonic CD was superior to all previous ports and the original, a Genesis era Sonic game running at a full 60 FPS, keep the audio quality of the CD and the graphics fit the iPhones unique screen aspect ratio.
This is also the guy who responsible for the PSN, Xbox Live, Steam and Android versions of the game.
Taxman later team up with another programmer named Stealth (founder of Headcannon Studios) that took the same approach to porting Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 to multiple platforms.
Stealth was one of the members of Team Megamix, makers of one of the best Fan made Sonic games ever Sonic Megamix. Stealth is also the first programmer to figure out how to get Knuckles in Sonic 1.
Might No 9 was a lesson how to not to bring back a series
Sonic Mania is how you do it right
You know what? I donāt give a fuck if your shitposts here lately are just for attention. Go back to cyber fucking that dude online and get your dick stuck in your pcās cooling fan.
The pedigree of those devs are why fans are hyped for Mania. Iām sure none would be half as excited without them. Sega own efforts in recapturing classic Sonic havenāt been successful.
really hoping some hyper sonic action will be in this mania game. I want the flashing colors and shadowsā¦
Although you know somethings thats worrying me about this game is, lack of showing new stages(like how many are gonna be in the game all together at end of the day I wonder?)⦠and⦠im getting some sonic CD vibes. I know some people like that game, but I think its a clusterfuck that looks like some kid made his own sonic game and just added a bunch of shit all over the place and the flow is weird and not as fun as others. And im getting that vibe right now from this game, lots of crap all over the place that im sure is fun in its own way⦠but at some point its to much, and theres no flow.
Green Hill
Chemical Plant
Mirage Saloon
Studiopolis
Stardust Speedway
Flying Battery
Plus another yet unrevealed original stage
Thatās already as much as Sonic 1 and Iām sure they arenāt showing EVERY stage. Heck I think theyāve already shown TOO MANY stages, so Iām not sure what youāre talking about
Iām not seeing the clusterfuck point either, personally
I feel like in a effort to be extra sure you arenāt wearing rose tinted glasses you went too far and pulled your eyes out lol
You know that those old stages have remixed layouts in the 1st act and completely new layouts in the second right?
Uhh, no you misunderstand me. Iām staying that in your effort to NOT have rose to tinted glasses on when examining this game, I think youāve gone too far and instead of being too forgiving, you are overcompensating and being extra harsh.
Maybe you should go back and play the original games again, Iām not seeing anything unusual in the remixes or new stages
Umm I just watched a interview with one of the developers from E3 and he said sonic CD was his favorite game and he was trying to make the game more like sonic CD.
Anyway game comes out soon guess will see how it is
